shipping items home

We will be staying at POFQ in June. We are hoping to ship some items home before heading out. Is it true that the resort will help us UPS (has to be UPS, DH works there ) our things? Where do we go and will they have a box?

We had "goodies" shipped home from the AK and the Poly. We got the boxes form the gift shops. And I remember that AK even gave us the tape. Then we took the boxes to front desk, they weighed them, charged us and off they went -sometimes beating us home. And yes it was UPS

Lowkat you rock!! I've been dying to know the answer to that question!! I've been debating ways of carrying collapsable boxes in my suitcases, taking shipping tape and UPS forms....worrying about how to pay, etc, etc, etc!!

Did they give you any hassle about it?

Has anyone ever done this at Wilderness Lodge?

Never had a hassle from WDW about it.

Never shipped from WL, but have shipped from BWI, BC, YC, and I think the Swan.

Anyway, you can select between FedEx and UPS and next day all the way to ground(about 3 days)

It's also possible to ship directly from the store you bought something in..... that kitchen store that used to be in DTD (not sure it's still there now) helped us with this. I purchased about 20 various mickey glasses and had them sent directly home to me.

This was good and bad though, when they got home a few (3) were broken even though I watched them get packed up. Although I'm not sure I would have done much better carrying them on the plane myself. One call to Disney merchandise solved my problems, they sent me replacements without me needing to send them shards of glass back.

It's hard to remember which shipping company they used, but I think it might have been UPS, anyways it was VERY convenient.

I had a Mickey snowglobe shipped from the POR gift shop and a small piece was broken off of it when it arrived.

When I had things shipped directly from the hotel (POFQ) the people weren't very helpful. I had to basically search around for a box. I was then begrudgingly given some packing tape to use. I much prefer sending things directly from shops. At least when they send things in the stores they pack it properly with peanuts or bubble wrap. Sending it myself I basically just put things in the box without any protection around them.
