I wasn't sure where this should go, so I am posting it here. Is there an easy way to ship stuff home from Disneyworld? I was wondering if maybe the resorts had a service? Does anyone know what it costs?

I am looking at costumes for MNSSHP and the ones I like include a three hoop skirt that would take up all the room in my luggage. LOL I just didn't know if it would be worth the extra bag fee since we probably aren't flying Southwest. (We don't have it at our local airport and don't want to drive the 4 hours to the Denver airport.)

I don't know about all the resorts but we were at Saratoga Springs 2 weeks ago and considered shipping some stuff home. We asked at the concierge desk and the cm there gave us a Fed Ex or UPS packing slip to fill out and said just box everything up, fill out the slip and give it to the cm and they'd take care of the rest. We ended up not shipping anything but it was good to know that service was available. The hard part might be finding a box to ship in and some packing tape. We're even considering shipping our clothes down and back next year instead of checking them with the airline to save the baggage fees. Someone posted on here a couple of weeks ago that shipping stuff was cheaper than baggage fees.

Shipping Things Home from Resorts:
1) Go to Gift Shop and ask for old boxes.
2) Also ask for packing.
3) Go to room and pack box(es).
4) Take box(es) to Concierge Desk.
5) Complete the shipping paperwork.
6) Select either FEDEX or UPS as the shipping agent
7) Concierge will seal and send.
8) There is no additional markup to the freight cost.
9) Sending items from stores now have a large profit markup.

NOTE: If you declare more the $100 value for UPS, you need to itemize.

Individual stores will handle the shipping for you too -- and pack the box as well. We often do this, especially from the Christmas Shop. The box arrives within a week of our return; normally we choose UPS. :goodvibes

1) True.
2) But, to the stores, these are profit centers.
3) There is an extra charge for the service, beyond shipping.
4) Current costs from stores are . . .

Ground - (10-20 days)
Under $50 = $9.95
$50.01-$75 = $14.95
$75.01 - $100 = $19.95
$100.01 - $150 = $24.95
$150.01 - $250 = $29.95
$250.01 - $500 = $34.95
$500.01 - $1000 = $39.95

Air - (2-5 days)
Under $50 = $24.95
$50.01-$75 = $29.95
$75.01 - $100 = $34.95
$100.01 - $150 = $39.95
$150.01 - $250 = $49.95
$250.01 - $500 = $59.95
$500.01 - $1000 = $69.95

we ship most of or souvenirs home right through the store where we buy them. not cheap but it is so convenient and a nice surprise when the package appears
