Has anyone shipped food ahead of time to yourself at the resort? Is this accepted? If so, what have you sent?

We have done that when we went in 2003. We stayed at the CBR. I sent things like breakfast, snack and some other items: bowls, spoons, cereal, poptarts, fruit snacks, raisins, nuts, goldfish crackers, chex mix, pretzles, and things were were going to use up there and didn't want to carry in our luggage like a weeks supply of diapers, swim diapers, and wipes.

It worked out great. I got a big computer box that was going to be recycled at work, packed it up a little at a time at home, and sent it FedEx Ground (it was only about $10 for a 40 lb. box ) on Monday and tracked it online and made sure it got there by our arrival date on Friday. I forgot to ask for the box when we checked in, so I just called later from our room and it was delivered in about 10 min. I just sent the box the the regular resort address and put in big bold letters to hold for me, the date of our arrival and our reservation number.

Hope that helps,

I sent the same things the last poster sent. Just make sure that you put your name and arrival date on the box.

This time we are using Wegoshop, just b/c it's comparable to shipping it down and I don't have to deal with hassle of mailing anything.

I shiped some things down last summer. We were staying in Poly GVC for 10 nights and I had some things shipped down there. My DS is a VERY picky eater, so I sent, a large container of PB (we are talking the 6 lb size from Sam's), a large container of Goldfish crackers and some other snacks for him. I sent it via UPS ground. All arrived safely. When I checked in, I told them that there should be a package in storage for me. They went and found it and delivered it to the room. I don't know that it is worth it if you can make a grcery stop and get things there. I was also shipping some things that I knew I could not buy at the local grocery store in bulk (Goo-goo Clusters and Moon Pies), so I went ahead and shipped the PB and goldfish.

I shipped in 2002 & will do it again this summer.

We shipped UPS about a 30 lb box for around $15 & I was able to track it right before we left too which was nice.

I packed diapers/wipes/table toppers. Laundry detergent/dryer sheets. Cereals, breakfast bars, cans of fruit, juice boxes, various snacks.

I tried to limit it to things I did not want to take back home with me-of course I ended up taking diapers/wipes home but I knew I would have to do that anyways.

This year I am packing fruit snacks for the plane ride home for both kids & safe foods for my ds to eat (he has a dairy peanut allergy). I have been contemplating doing the wego shop but I would be so paranoid if they didn't have the food that he eats & then I'd be stuck.

You just put on your box: Attention arriving guest Disney (put your name there). The date you arrive. I even put my reservation # on it & the resort address. I did call to confirm I could do this in advance.

We used Netgrocer in 2001 and it was great! They had a free shipping promo at the time. We shipped a case of water, breakfast cereal, Parmalat milk, snacks, and sunscreen. The bellman brought the boxes to our room and everything was there. I was glad we didn't need to spend any time shopping for groceries and glad that we saved a ton of money on water for the parks and breakfast food for the room.

we sent alot of the same things and when we checked in they told us they had 2 boxes waiting for us.

I debated whether to ship or to pack an extra bag on the flight down for food and extra items.I decided to pack an old suitcase , it contained snacks, cereal, bagels and other things and brought it with us. At the end of our stay most of the items were finished so there was plenty of room for items we bought while on vacation. Worked out great and didnt have to pay extra. Just my 2 cents....

I sent a package to myself in January (2005) with some food (pop, bottled water, crackers, some candy) and other items in it (toilet paper, nalgiene bottle, kleenex, etc). It worked great for me becuase I did not rent a car or hire a towncar...I took Mears. I would reccomend using UPS. I did UPS ground and it was $14.99 to send the package (it was 16lbs). I sent my package on Jan 13th and it was estimated to get to my resort on the 19th (my arrival date) it was not there when I arrived (I got there around 12:45pmish), but that night when I got back from the parks I had a message from the front desk and they brought the package to my room. Check out the UPS website to figure out how many days in advance to send your package.
