Can anyone tell me if the information in the FAQ sticky is still correct?

Boxes to Send Home after Cruise - Information provided by Shirley
These guys are great and right off Highway 528 - Shipping Depot located at 211 Crockett Blvd, Suite 103, Merritt Island, Florida, Phone 321-453-2558, Fax 321-453-0161

Email - shippingdepot103@aol.com
If you DO NOT want to concern yourself with the carrying of ''stuff'' home that you have purchase or too much to take on the plane, you can take it over to their place of business or they will be more than glad to pick it up from Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and they will ship anywhere and everywhere. They are UPS and FEDEX office. Owners are Raul and Dwane - super nice folks to work with and very accomodating to your shipping needs. Must mention this board for discount.

How would this work if we've hired a private transportation company to pick us up at the port and take us to MCO? Would we arrange for them to pick up our box from the port? Do we have to be present for pick-up?

I finally got around to e-mailing them late last night; I wasn't surprised to wake up to a bounceback e-mail from AOL saying the account no longer exists. I will try calling the number later today.

If you are hiring transportation I imagine you can ask them to stop off at the nearest shipping supplies location and mail off what you want to. Ie: FEDEX kikos, USPS, etc. Not sure which day you are coming back it would depend on their hours but I don't imagine you would have any issues asking them to stop off before taking you to the airport.

Well, I called the Shipping Depot number provided in the FAQs: not working. So that information is officially out of date.

I called the transportation company I'm using, FL Tours, to see if they would make a stop on the way to the airport. They can make stops on the way to Port Canaveral, but due to scheduling issues, they can't make stops on the way back from the port.

So it seems to be that, unless you are driving your own car or have a more amenable transportation service, there aren't many/any feasible options for shipping packages back home.

The guy I spoke to at FL Tours suggested trying the post office at the airport, but I don't know that they send packages from there, or that they'd let me bring a box past check-in/security to get it to that location.

EDITED TO ADD: According to the MCO's website, "Drop Boxes for US Mail, FedEx & UPS are at level 3, Terminal A, at Ticketing C." "Drop Boxes" would seem to indicate only envelopes are accepted, and that there is no staff to weigh and process packages.

There is a post office very near the port (across from the Radisson) but if you driver won't stop then it does you no good....unless you decide to do a one-way rental back to the airport.

I have often said that DCL should allow one of the shipping companies to set up a kiosk outside where you board the buses....I bet they would be busy with people shipping stuff home.

Well, as it stands, it's one good reason to go to WDW *after* the cruise as opposed to before! :D
