You can get hotel street addresses and phone numbers from the OL site (the Disney resorts are under "D").

www.ownerslocker.com/locations

As long as you address it to yourself care of the hotel and put your arrival date on the package you should be fine.

I have a question that is totally OT. What time zone is the board in. I posted at 8:10pm and my post says 6:28pm :confused3
It is 8:31pm where I am and my post says 7:02, I do not get it.

I thought the Dis clocks were in the eastern time zone. I know they're off a little; but didn't think they were that off!

I am pretty sure, that you can adjust your time zone, to where you are in the user cp section, adjust info....

anyone notice, that for i did it before and never again is still at 0?

A quick heads up to those using UPS.....

I work in advertising/marketing so I am shipping stuff (samples, etc) at least once a week to clients or to/from hotels for conferences. Early this week we found an extra $10 charge on a box we had shipped to a client. Apparently UPS is adding a rather stiff surcharge to shipping because of rising fuel costs. They have had some fuel surcharge for over a year, but this one is sizable - the box was only about a pound. So, when you call for an estimate on the price, ask them if that includes the surcharge. Their quotes usually don't.

Fedex has a surcharge also, but I haven't noticed that it's that large. I expect they won't be far behind in raising the rates.

It's going to get harder to use shipping as a way to get around the airline charges for baggage. Shipping has started to increase just like gasoline. We're DVC, so we've been using Owner's Locker for our personal stuff at WDW. Less hassle than shipping.

I just shipped a box via UPS on Monday to arrive by this weekend for my stay at the WL. It was 29lb. box; shipping charge - $24.00; fuel surcharge - $2.05.

To ship back to your home from a resort that is not a convention resort, this what I did, if it helps. I brought tape, a pre-addressed label with my home address in the box that I shipped down there. The night before we left, I packed up the luggage in the box (we had eaten all our food and drank all the coffee), taped it up, stuck the label on and brought it down to the front desk when I noticed it wasn't very busy. The CM weighed it, filled out the UPS paper work (I asked to ship UPS) and told me how much the charges were and I put it on my room charge. It was about 3 dollars more than when I shipped it down and weighed about the same because we added souvies to it. It was sooo easy. And I really like just having a small carry on both coming and going on the plane.

an aerobed, and then shipped it back home again?

The front desk can send it home. I've done it at POR, POFQ and POP.

Thanks! Just the info I was looking for. Great advice on putting a return label in the box before sending it to WDW!

What is fedex's luggage delivery service? How to?

sounds interesting, mky:cutie:

You can probably do it all online, but we took it to a fedex facility. They weigh it and secure it with their special tape. We have done it a few times. The last time we sent two rather large rolling duffel bag style suitcases - probably 60-75 lbs each and we chose the 3 or 4 day option and it was about $140- $150. The best part about Fedex is that they can track EXACTLY where the pkg is! We insure them for replacement value of all our stuff inside, but have never had a problem at all. They put a label on the luggage just like a box. You can actually use these wrap things, like a HUGE bag, but I never felt it was necessary.

Then when you are ready to come back, just call Fedex and schedule a pickup. I think we were able to prepay and get a label for the return trip, but Im not sure about that.

It never really occurred to me to just use boxes, that might be cheaper because I think the boxes would weigh less than a suitcase. I think we'll try it next trip & just pack in a roll of packing tape and reuse the boxes to send stuff back home.

That what I do except that I stick dirty laundry in the box mailed home and put the souvies in my luggage.:rotfl:
