Someone suggested that I ship diapers, food, and wipes to my hotel before I go. Does anyone have any experiences with doing this? How long before your trip did you send it? Thanks for any feedback.

We shipped some stuff last December via UPS. Their website has a nifty tool to help you figure out how long something will take to ship so I did that a few weeks in advance and then shipped it based on what their site said. We had no problems and the nice thing about UPS is that you can track your package. Ours arrived about a day before we did.

hth!

I have never done it. I always figured that when the diapers and wipes went low that would leave room for things we purchased for our return trip home.

We shipped down a pack of diapers (60 something count), wipes, antibacterial hand wipes, dried fruit, small cans of fruit, pretzels, and other snack stuff, as well as a 6 pack of juice bottles (plastic), sippy cups, glow sticks, small new toys, toiletries, etc so we didn't have to lug it through the airport with DS2 (luggage and carseat were enough). We ended up having a 51 lb box  ! We shipped it UPS for about $31. DH dropped it off at Staples on Sunday (they don't ship out that day, but I couldn't carry the box) and it got to OKW on Thursday. I watched online so I knew it got there and who signed for it.

We also used the box to ship back souviniers, leftover diapers and toiletries, dirty laundry, etc. DH took it to the front desk at OKW, they weighed it there and he paid to have it sent home.

We will definitely do this next time, although we won't need the diapers  .

I agree. We do this too...we bring our on & then have room for souveniers on the return trip home! :cool1:

It's funny that every year I pack all the disney stuff, ears, hats, visors, spinners, tees... Still we ends up bringing home a bunch of souveniers. If I don't come home with a new christmas ornament and a magnet I just don't feel right. Need to bring some magic home.

I did using UPS Ground, and it was less than $10 (and less than USPS according to the web sites). You can enter the info at ups.com and send it according to when you want it to arrived. I sent mine on Tuesday, it arrived on Friday, and we arrived on Saturday. As someone else mentioned, UPS Ground doesn't run Saturday and Sunday (and watch for holidays). It was so easy. I don't usually use UPS, and I decided to send stuff last minutes (after deciding it wouldn't fit in suitcases). I would definitely do it again.

I've shipped a box a couple of times, mostly with non-perishable food items (I have a kid with food allergies), diapers/wipes, disposable sippy cups, and stuff like small containers of laundry detergent/dish soap, etc.. It's quite simple and I've always been frustrated with myself when I've just tried to pack it all in the suitcase.

I've always used UPS ground so I can track my package. It's been about $20 each time for a good sized box. I send the package to myself, c/o the hotel. I also include my reservation number and date of arrival on the outside of the box. I usually send the package about 5 days ahead of time. I've always been told at check in that I have a box waiting for me, so they must log your delivery into the resv. system when it arrives.
