shipping a stroller to resort

I'm with everyone else who thinks that the rental prices are ridiculous but think that having a stroller would make a day in the parks easier!

Does anyone know if I can have a stroller shipped from Amazon (or wherever) to the resort?
Would the front desk hold it for me? or what would happen?

I'm thinking that if I had it shipped there, I could box it back up and take it on the plane back home with us and sell it once we got home.
(my husband thinks I'm crazy and just wants to rent and be done with it!)

Would it work?

Here's what i recommend that would be even easier!!!

1. Order a cheap stroller from WalMart with their "site-to-store" free shipping. (they will ship it to a local Orlando store free of charge)

2. If you have a rental car, just go pick it up. If not, take a taxi. Will still be cheaper than renting.

Or... could you even have it shipped straight to your hotel, if you call and OK it first? An umbrella stroller or a big full stroller?

Dont forget this one thing... if a rental stroller gets "taken" while you are on a ride, you just go get a new one. If you own it, its gone.

Do you have the Disney Visa? Our stroller rentals are free with that.

correct me if Im wrong but free strollers with disney visa is ONLY in DISNYLAND not Disneyworld.:rolleyes1

How is it free?
You show your card at the stroller rental booth, and it's free. One free per card, hubby and I each have the card so we get two free strollers. Perfect! (plus with or "points" we had something like $400 worth of free money. We used it for food at DL. I started buying ALL our groceries on that card and it really racks up points.

Most online dealers will drop-ship that way. Call the resort and ask how the box would have to be labeled to be held for you, and also the amount of time it would be held, so that you can time your order. Be sure that whatever you buy will not need any assembly, or check a few basic tools in your checked luggage. It wouldn't do to need a hammer and a philips-head screwdriver to put the wheels on and not have them.

You could also just have it shipped to your home and gate-check it on the aircraft.

Most high-end brands like Maclaren, Peg and Combi re-sell very easily for most of their value. Domestic brands like Graco are harder to resell.

We did exactly that. We don't use a stroller at home -- but needed one for the trip. We shipped from Amazon to the hotel -- with free shipping! The hotel held it for us until we checked in --- then delivered it to our room. When we were ready to go, we packed it pack in the box and returned it home as checked luggage for our flight. Later I sold it on ebay for just a little less than I paid for it. Shipped it to it's new home in the same box! (I agree with the name-brand --- ours was a Peg)

We had a great stroller to use --- and it didn't get all dirty and bent like my other one did when I gate checked it!

Have a great trip!

Do you know about A Baby's Best Friend? http://www.abbf.com/They will deliver a stroller to the resort and pick it up at the end of your trip. You don't need to be there to receive it. We used them last time and it was great.
