Just found out I can use fed ex ground through my dh's work and they will ship any size box for me (up to 50 lbs) for $12. I think we will take advantage of this and definitey send ahead some diapers for my 21 month old. Any other suggestions? I will be bringing along an extra bag in my luggage to check on the way back but I also don't want to overpack and end up needing to send a box back home.

Also the shipping is 5 day fed ex ground. How soon should I send it for our Sat 9/23 arrival (We are in AZ) ? We are at Pop and I was not sure there policy for holding packages. Do you recommend calling the hotel to let them know we have a package coming?

I shipped a box to the Dolphin for our last trip - filled with snacks (cereal, breakfast bars, chips, nuts) for my 2 kids and my girfriends and her 4 kids. I used the USPS and shipped it about a week ahead of time. I got delivery confirmation that it was there in 2 days. Just get the correct address, and put it attention your name, arrival date, and confirmation number on the outside of the box. When we checked in, the front desk had notice that a box was there and they had the bellman bring it to the room. The snacks were a good idea, for quick breakfast and to throw some in the backpack for the day. That way, on our grocery stop, I just basically got water and milk (parmalat little ones) for the room. I'd send it a week ahead of time.

What you'll include in the box really depends on how long you're going for, where you're staying, etc... I'd avoid liquids as they may spill (yuck - may ruin the diapers). But you could throw in a box of wipes, or some other things like snacks. PM me if you have any other specific questions!

Thanks Happymommy! We are there for 10 days so we will definitely need supplies. I was thinking of not sending food as we are planning a grocery stop on our way in but now that I think about it, we are not going to want to do full blown grocery shopping on our arrival day and running in for Milk/ Bread/ Soda only would be great.

I called the hotel and they said they would hold the box for a week and they also told me to call back when I send it so they can note it on my reservation.

Thank you again for your reply and suggestions. :)

You read my mind! This was the exact question I was going to ask! We don't leave for awhile now...but I was thinking about getting a box and tossing things in as time goes by...but I needed a starting place. THANKS!
