Shipboard credit with DV rewards in advance?

Sorry if this has been asked, but I couldn't find it...

Can I use my Disney Visa Rewards card to put shipboard credit on my account beforehand or do I have to do it when I get on the ship? I know you can put advance credit to your stateroom using a credit card, but I wasn't sure if they allowed you to use your Rewards card to do this.

I just called the 800 disney number to put my DV Rewards balance towards my room and she said they "can't do that".

Just thought I'd pass this info along.. I told her that was not was I was told..

Perhaps it depends on who answers the phone?

I think you have to put the rewards on the rewards card and take it to the ship, then the rewards can be applied to your shipboard account.
