In my cruise docs, I wrote down a credit card number for my shipboard account. Can I go to Guest Services though and give them travelers checks, or will I be bound to only use the credit card?

You can pay with traveler's checks, cash, Disney Dollars, or a different credit card. They just need one on file in case you go over that amount you leave in cash....

Once you have charged a certain amount ($400 maybe? - can't remember) they will charge the card you gave them unless you have deposited enough to cover the charges. So...... if you wait until the end of the week, they may have already charged your card.

For the 10/23 Wonder cruise, it was a $200 limit before they charged your card. :D

You can also ( pre-pay) get On Board Credits on you acct.
You can call DCL, and add $25.00 or more to your on board room acct. Kinda like a Christmas club acct. You can build up a little nest egg acct. and it is ready to use the minute you check aboard.
Any unused money is refunded to you!
This may help?

They will credit it right back if you pay with cash, travelers checks, disney dollars whatever.
