Ship tours - Fantasy?

I'm headed on the Fantasy in July, and I really want to do one of the ship tours. My first ever cruise was on the Dream this past July and I mistakenly attended the newbie ship tour, when I was actually looking for the more in-depth tour. Does anyone know when these tours are offered, and if there is a cost associated with them?

The Art of the Theme Show Tour is the only tour to my knowledge that Disney does outside of their embarkation day tour to get to know the ship. I have seen the Art of the Theme Show Tour presented several times throughout the cruise, and there is no fee to take the tour. It might happen on sea days, but I have also seen it offered on port of call days as well. This tour is only offered to adults as well, but I have seen kids occasionally join in. You would just need to ask whoever the staff is giving the tour if you have a kid wanting to join in.

It does not include back stage areas. They talk about the theme of several spaces throughout the ship like the atrium, lounges, and other surprises that you might not have known.

Here is an example of a navigator on the first sea day of an eastern caribbean cruise on the Fantasy. You can see the tour is offered in the morning on this particular day of this sailing. It might be different for your cruise.

The only onboard tours are the Walking Ship Tour (get acquainted tour); the Art of the Theme Ship Tour (significance of the various choices in decor onboard); and (on some cruises) the Galley Tour.

The Galley Tour is not advertised, you just go to Guest Services at the beginning of the cruise and express your interest. If there's enough interest, and an available time, they will set one up.

Unlike other cruise lines, DCL doesn't offer behind the scenes tours. That's pretty much in line with Disney protocol in the parks.

That's disappointing @Mitura but thanks for sharing so that I can be disappointed now rather than when I ask on the ship - because I will and find out things have not changed since you sailed. Too bad as we loved the galley tour and learned so much neat stuff!!

Yes, it can vary. We did a galley tour on our EBTA in May. In fact there were several start times for it. But, we had to sign up at Guest Services first, and they got back to us whether there was going to be one or not. Typically, it's only on the longer cruises, but I've seen reports of people on 7 night cruises being able to get them.

That's a shame. We did the galley tour on the Fantasy this past February. Must be a somewhat recent change I'd imagine.

As noted, the galley tour does run. When there is enough interest in one, and if the scheduling onboard allows it. It's not a set in stone offering.

I'm sailing on a 7 night Fantasy cruise In Feb. I'll be enquiring about the galley tour with the first day or 2.

Well, for whatever reason, that particular cruise didn't have the galley tour. As I said, it's up to the ship's personnel whether they offer it or not.

What do you mean, Disney offers a bunch of behind the scenes tours at the parks. Just back from the podcast cruise on the Oasis of the Seas and they do a 3:30 tour of many back stage areas including the engineering control room and the bridge for$150 per person. With Disney always trying to find new ways to get customers to part with their money don't know why they don't do this.

I believe these tours may be the ones being referred to in the Disney Parks. There are many I would like to take...someday.
