Ship groceries to your room?

I read an old post that said they shipped water to their room, instead of trying to take a taxi to the store. We are staying on site, with no rental car and I love the idea of shipping some water and snacks straight to our room. Anyone know the ins and outs of this? Like do you just go onto Walmart.com and place an order? I imagine even with shipping it will be chaeper than the grocery delivery places.

We did this on our last trip and it was so worth it. We had water, sandwich making stuff, beer, snacks for backpack and breakfast foods delivered. I got in on a fridge swap and stayed at a value resort. We saved tons of money and it was really simple to do. I highly recommend it.

who did you use? I think this sounds like a great idea!

We were very happy with Garden Grocer - but we didn't eat and drink as much in the room as I had anticipated, and we had a lot left over. I took home what I could and offered a case of water to a couple we met at the pool. The rest we tossed.

I'm not so sure. Be sure to determine, though, whether or not your resort charges a fee for receiving packages. I got bit by that a couple of times, shipping provisions to the BoardWalk (and other times I wasn't charged... go figure).

We used wegoshop. We wanted a lot of organic and gardengrocer didn't have the selection I wanted. Wegoshop bought what we wanted and brought it right to our room. And I must say the fresh fruit that they picked up for us was wonderful.

Help! Trying to figure out is I should ship items down or go through a grocery place online- when I check on UPS for time and cost it states $200 for the cost! What am I doing wrong?:confused3

have used gardengrocer a number of times-sandwich stuff, breakfast and snack items, soda, and beer (put it in the box where you can write special instructions as it is not listed on their site). Loved the service and their products. Saved us a ton of money......
