A few months ago, my friend lj from college asked if we would like to join them at WDW.
Lj is an army wife and lives very far away. We've only seen each other once in 15 years. We stay in touch by phone and email. Her DH has had some overseas tours and I like talking on the phone late at night, so we've been able to stay close friends.
As for DH and I, we went to WDW in April with my sisters and their families, and we've also had some financial downturns. So, let's just say...it didn't seem like a good time for me and DH to go to WDW.
We told lj..."We'll think about it, but probably not." We thought about it. "We are going to WDW!!"
LJ comes back and tells us that some other friends (army pals) are going along on the trip. The trip is set. We will have 6 adults and 3 kids.
Why the big secret? My family doesn't get into the Kingdom of the Mouse, and they know things have been a bit tight at the home of Mickey's Apprentice.
They would think this trip is INSANE! (We aren't telling them anything!)
Now for the details...
Lj and family are already in Florida and will stay a few days after we leave. The army pals will arrive just before us and will be fighting jet lag when we get there. They will all be staying at PO.
DH and I leave in a few days and have a standard studio reserved at the BWV. Frankly, we wouldn't be going without DVC. We are only staying 5 days and trying to make the trip as short as possible. I am flying for the 1st time in my life because we don't want 2 days of our trip to be on the road. DH and I will stay near the Atlanta airport and leave at 4:30 am.
We hope to see all of the parks at least briefly. We have ADRs set for The Plaza, CRT, Kona, Biergarten, Cape May, and CP.
We think this will be a good trip for everybody. We all need some down time, and it will be really good to see old friends.
