They should have been labeled “Wet Seats”. The spray from the “water screens” blew right on us. It wasn’t a deluge of water, but we definitely were pretty wet by the end of the show. I imagine at the height of summer these seats would be pretty coveted. It’s a great way to cool off. But when its already hovering around the 40-degree mark it got kind of cold.

ME: "Great Seats!"

DH: " Yeah thanks. Got a squeegee I could borrow?" (DH wears glasses and every few minutes he had to wipe them off in order to see the show.

The last time we experienced anything like this was at Cirque du Soliel’s “O” at the Bellagio in Vegas. We sat second row but at least we were fairly warned there – the tickets we labeled “wet seats”. Oh well – chalk another one up to a learning experience.

The other problem with sitting in the front is that you are practically the last to leave. It took nearly 20 minutes to clear the theater alone. I started to realize maybe driving was the right thing to do.

WARNING - Digression in progress
I find it almost annoying that you have to stop at the guard shack everytime you want to enter your resort. Now I know it is for security purposes but it just bothers me. I think that there should be a guest entrance where you could slide your room key to lift an automatic gate. You can use your room key for everything else, why not this?? Also, every guard is different. Some make you stop and roll down the window, others wave you on through. Others tell you to follow mysterious blue lines that don't exist !?! Upon check-in the nice elderly cast member at the gate told us to follow the blue line. There wasn't one. Might as well of followed the Yellow Brick Road for all the good that direction did for us. We made it none the less. Thanks for the digression
END OF DIGRESSION

We made it back to the Poly with about 15 minutes to spare before our PS at O’hana. We all changed into our finest Hawaiian duds. With 2 trips to Oahu in the past 7 months we all have plenty of Hilo Hattie wear!! Or as we like to call it Hilo Hottie.

We waited about 15 minutes for our PS so we sat in the bar had had lapu lapu’s in the pineapple – YUM. Tonight the Golden Globes were on TV so the bar was quite crowded with people having drinks and watching the show. We were seated in the main dining room and we immediately knew that we were going to love this restaurant. It was jus tour kind of place (for a more detailed report check our the dining review on the Restaurant Board).

After dinner mom, Dude and I decided to take a dip in the pool. DH sat this one out and stayed in the room. Smart boy!! We loved the Volcano pool and the warm water, we HATED having to get out into the frigid air. I don’t think my feet hit the pavement as I ran back to the room. Thank goodness the Hawaii building is so close to the pool.

Side Note – the Poly could really use a spa/hot tub. It’s really the only thing I felt the resort lacked.

So after less than 48 hours at WDW I felt we had accomplished quite a bit and was satisfied so far. But I was really getting excited about the next day. It was DH’s actual birthday and we had lots in store for him.

Including a group “date” with some very lovely ladies…

I know about those seats. My children wanted to sit there, and it was worth all the water. Thank goodness for ponchos.::yes::
