After living with ... um... her for almost 12 years, we find out today that our sweet little girly cat is a ... BOY??

Seriously. Our vet had declared her a she. Seemed obvious to me that she was a she.

She's gone to live with my parents (and ... she.. is much happier there) and they take her to the vet today only to find out that she is a HE!

And only an X-Ray revealed this fact. Something about clamps. Clamps? No wonder she (he) was so grumpy all of the time. :rotfl:

And I can't seem to be able to call "her" a "him," or "she" a "he"... it just seems so weird. :scared1:

Anyone ever have such a case of mistaken identity?? I've had this happen with a guinea pig, and a cockatiel once... but never a kitty??

That happened to us. We even took our girl to the vet, thought she had been fixed before she adopted us. The vet was looking at her and said they only way would be to open her up and see. Well we decided not to. A few years later, "she" poked out some not so girl parts. Her name was Ms. Meow too. :lmao: We just said she was gender confused and kept on calling her a girl.

yep, lol, we used to have a very large, siamese cat named barney-we'd gotten him already grown and were told he was a he. turned out, barney was a she, LOL.

I've had that happen with a rabbit (and subsequently ended up with 5 little rabbits, we thought we were doing well getting two of the same sex) but not with a cat. I know cats are a lot harder to tell than dogs, but you would think a vet would know!

Yep. Our so called "male" cockatiel laid 8 eggs and raised them with our so called "female" cockatiel. Imagine getting the sex wrong twice. And each bird came from a different store, sexed wrong. To this day they still look like they should be the opposite sex from what they turned out to be. If I hadn't seen the eggin' myself, I'd think someone was playing a joke on me. ;) Good thing they had names that could pretty much go either way.

This happened to us. We had two kitties and were told both were girls.
One was acting a little funny and we thought she was sick and was hiding. When I found her she had 5 newborn kittens with her!!!! I called my dh at work and told him Guess What???? When I told him he was How in the H--- did that happen????? We were BOTH shocked!!!:lmao:
