Hey everyone!

Leaving on Saturday for the WORLD! Yay! I am wanting to try the Sherbeth Road shortcut this year..I just couldn't figure it out on a map last year and was TOOO lazy to even attempt. Pathetic right? Do you just go straight on Sherbeth or do you need to make anymore turns? Is it worth it or should we just use the trusty World Drive exit? :confused3

Thanks for your help ya'll! Can't tell you how helpful all of you are!:worship:

We live on US27 ~ which is past Summer Bay Resort on the end of 192 so we go that way when going to the AK ~~
you just turn onto Sherberth Rd. from 192 and follow it for a very short distance ~ no turns off of it until you reach the light which puts you next to AKL. At the light you turn right and you're on Osceola pkwy. ~ AK is there , along with the value resorts and you can also get to all the other guest areas of course by turning off of Osceola.

It's very simple ~ Sherberth Rd. is only a couple of minutes long ~~ much faster than going on down to World drive!

Have fun!!

When leaving WH their is a cross road just before 192 I think there is a stop sign there but maybe not take a left go to next stop take a right on Entry Point Rd go straight at traffic light that puts you on Sherberth road 1 less traffic light that way.

Going down Sherbeth, when you get to the light, you turn left to go to AK Lodge, right to go to everywhere else. Don't do like I did the first time and go straight; you'll end up in the AK cast member parking lot, LOL! I was so embarrased! :rotfl:

AHHH, the old Sherberth Road shortcut. Here it is step by step. We lived in Indian Ridge just past WH so did this a lot. If you are a little obsessive and want the very shortest route here is my opinion...

To get to ALL PARKS but Animal Kingdom I do not think Sherberth is quicker with new entrances unless it is very very crowded on Old Lake Wilson and traffic is way backed up there. From WH go up Old Lake Wilson, stay in right lane. Turn right on 192 or if deliciously obsessive turn right into the steakhouse driveway about 100 feet short of 192 and cheat down to their exit drive and go right on 192. Take first Disney entrance on right to get to all parks but AK.
To get to AK or AK lodge here is the slickest via Sherberth. Take Old Lake Wilson past Lexington Ave. and look for the BACK side of the Westgate Resort sign and turn left just past it. It will be a little tricky the first time...go for a short way and just before entering Westgate turn right at the fountain onto Entry Point BLVD. Stay in right lane and go straight across 192 in less than a mile. You are now on little ol Sherberth...it goes straight and then does some fast curves...(On the straight part look carefully right down the road and ask the kids if they can tell which tree is The Tree of Life in AK) Do a couple of turns, turn right at the stop light (Osceola Parkway) and AK turn in will appear on your left in less than a mile. Rest of the parks are another mile or so and then left turn at small single lane stop light.

To get back to WH from anywhere in Disney (and always exit the parks via Sherberth because getting out is easier than getting in) follow any sign to Animal Kingdom. Be ready to take some quick right turns off the main roads in Disney. As you approach AK stay LEFT to AK Lodge. Left at stop light onto Sherberth, straight across 192 onto Entry Point Blvd...at Westgate go 3/4 around the fountain and out to Old Lake Wilson and right to WH...Twice and you will be an expert!!!

Good Luck and have a great time...Ted

Awesome map!! Wow! That is just what I am looking for - we are staying in Windsor Palms in a couple of weeks and I was wondering what was close by!!:thumbsup2

We just came back 3 wks ago but I'd like to be going down for the winter. The lobster season started this week so that will keep us here for a while. My husband is a lobster fisherman and buyer so this is our very busiest time of year. We might be able to sneak away toward the end of February for a week or while the weather is too bad for fishing.
Hope you have a great (warm) winter. Merry Christmas to you. :santa:

Isn't it amazing the huge diversity of the locations, vocations, and backgrounds of the folks who have a common denominator of enjoying the Disney experience.
Wow, lobster fishing, I could ask a hundred questions...
Here is wishing you abundant and safe lobster season.

Does Sherbeth intersect 192 an you can thus turn left or right? Or, does Sherbeth go over or under 192 and you cannot exit onto 192?

Sherberth intersects with SR 192. Left and right turns may be made directly onto SR 192 at the intersection.

When you leave Disney follow the signs for Animal Kingdom and as you get closer to it, Animal Kingdom Lodge. You'll stay to your left as you near the entrance for Animal Kingdom. This will take you past it to the next set of lights which will be Sherberth Rd. Turn left onto Sherberth and it will take you to 192.

We're here now and are wondering how to access the road from the Animal Kingdom parking lot? We got lost the first time we tried to return that way from the parks. We accidentally went into the AK parking lot and had to find a way to U-turn. Now we can get to the parks from it very easily, but it seems like you can't take the normal way out of AK parking lot and find it. Any clues?

You should be able to get to AK Lodge from AK. Follow the signs for that and should take you to the Sherberth intersection. I don't remember having any problem coming back via Sherberth when we've been to AK. If you do a close up of this map to the section where you leave the parking lot you can take a right to go toward AK Lodge. On the map the intersection has Osceola Parkway and Black Lake Rd marked. (Sherberth in red)

I think it is still the case since 2005; the Sherberth from the south / Animal K. Lodge to the west / bus entrance on the north / Osceola Pkwy to the east instersection is the only traffic light in the area.

If you took the main sweep out of AK taking you east on Osceola, stay in the left lane and there is a (unmarked?) break in the median (AK re-entry) where you can also take an extra sharp U turn and now you head directly for the light and straight across is AKL.

What is WH?
