Sherbeth Road quickest for all parks?

We are staying at Windsor Palms next week and from what I understand, the Sherbeth Road short cut is the quickest way to get to AK. Is that the way we should go to get to all the parks? Also, I got the directions from another post off this site. Are these correct?

Turn left out of Windsor Palms and go towards 192. Turn right on 192 and get in the left lane. At the first light, take a left onto Sherbeth Road. Go for about a mile and @ the lights go right and you are on Disney property.

I looked online last night and it mentioned something about Blake Lake Road and so now I am confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Going off memory here from a couple years ago, but as I recall Black Lake Road is two or three lights West of Sherbeth. So if you were coming from the West you could take a left onto Black Lake and it just brings you behind 192 'till you hit Sherbeth and take a left. I would imagine in real High season this could be a time saver, otherwise, I don't think it makes a huge difference if you stay on 192. I never actually took it (never found out where Black Lake ended up 'till I saw it on the DIS after I returned), but I heard it is a very blind corner where you have to take a left onto Shertbeth from Black Lake.

Yes, your directions are correct, and you should use this way to go to all the parks. The only time Blake Lake Road could help is if you get to 192 and there's a really long line of cars to turn right. As long as you're leaving early in the morning to arrive at park opening, I'm sure you won't have this problem. We've stayed at Windsor Palms several trips (even over XMAS) and never had any traffic problems using Sherbeth Rd.

Going to Disney: If the left turn arrow for Sherberth Rd. has just ended, another one won't come for about 2-1/2 minutes for most of the day. So you may as well go straight (on 192) all the way to World Drive for MK, Epcot, MGM.

SHerberth turns west for about half a mile at its north end so when you finally get on Osceola, you double back that half mile. This makes the Sherberth route a mile longer than the World Drive route to MK.

Yes, these directions are spot-on for Windsor Palms. Black Lake Road would be good for destinations further west along the 192 and, in particular, those sub-divisions on the US27.

Don't understand why this thread was moved from the Orlando Hotels and Attractions forum. Those DISers frequenting that forum are far more likely to know the answer to this question than those checking out the WDW Transportation forum, IMO.
