Sherberth Road shortcut

If your staying offsite (we were in the Sunset Lakes gated community,) depending on where you stay (we were off of 192,) A shortcut tip: use the SHERBERTH RD ENTRANCE TO WDW..We would take: Funie St., to Formosa Gardens Blvd, to 192 to Sherberth Road., anyway it's a back/CM entrance to WDW, and it was WONDERFUL! On our 1st morning to MK, it only took us 25 minutes to be at the turnstiles of MK, I'm sure in summer when it's busier it would take long but we were told to expect at least 45 minutes! AK it only took us 10 minutes to be at the turnstiles..

but because of the way the intersection is created, I've seen more than 1 accident there.

Other than that, I always go that way a few times each trip to get to 192.

Using Sherberth itself is ok the problem is turning form Black Lake onto Sherberth as the corner is alomst blind but there is work planned for that intersection in the future.

We use Sherbeth Road all the time too! I've never noticed a problem. It's such a time saver - especially for AK!

Is this anywhere near Sheraton Vistana? This is where we're staying in 2 weeks, and I'd love a shortcut. First time staying offsite.

I go through Sherberth Rd everyday going home. It is so much faster than taking 192.

Where does Sherberth Road bring you to? Are there signs once you get there? We are staying at Radisson Worldgate and I think we are very near Sherberth Road.

Following Sherberth brings you to the end of the Osecola Parkway near the entrance to Animal Kingdom Lodge

love the shortcut!!!

the problem is when you are turning left from black lake to sherberth - you can't alway see on coming traffic (especially since the speed limit is 35 and most drivers are going 50) in a car. for vans and trucks you might be able to see more.

momofmikey - no this is short cut is on the opposite end.
going to WDW no problem - from the resort just turn right at the traffic light turn right again - get in the middle lane and stay on this road. It will turn into World drive and the theme parks will be off of it.

coming back it was harder - just start looking for the DD signs and follow them.

sheraton Vistana Resort is about 2 miles from DD. if you can find DD then you can find svr.

if you get lost and end up at DD - then just turn on Hotel Plaza (where all the dd hotels are located) - at then of the street at the traffic light turn right - SVR is about a mile up this road.

I don't use Black Lake anymore, I just use the light on 192. I'll use this whether I am coming from CR 545 on the east side or US 27 on the west.
