We are spending a week in late September at this resort. It will be great to eat some meals quick and easy!

Has anyone stayed at this resort lately? I have heard some good things. My kids are 9 and 14. Is it true that some people don't even want to leave the resort because it is so nice and so much to do? Thanks for your info!!!!

I just returned from a stay a the Vistana on Sunday. I stayed in the Lakes. Very nice and spacious, clean resort. My children are 1 and 3 and they enjoyed the Fountains children's pool. They give you a courtesy call every night explaining all that is going on the next day. Unfortunately I only stayed for 4 nights so most of the time we spent outside of the hotel at Disney. But I could definetely see myself staying there and enjoying all there is to offer. ( Without the kids )
You will have fun.

We will be staying here the first week of august. One a bid on Skyauction for a 2 bedroom at a great price. Im glad to hear positive feedback on the resort. My co worker stayed here and said it is really nice. We normally stay at OKW (dvc members) but are still waiting on the list.

caseymaureen ... I had to laugh when I saw your user name ... it's my maiden name inverted. My name is maureen casey!!!!

;)

INSIST on getting in the new section! We tried, but did not insist, and we got the Falls section on our trip in June and it was not the wonderful accomodations that we read about on these boards. We were not impressed.:(

The new section is known as the "Cascades." We recently visited friends who were staying there while on vacation. I agree, I would ask for this section as it is newer and closer to the front of the resort.

We stayed last July in the Cascades and it was very nice. I also like the Spa's although older the actual rooms are bigger and they are also very centrally located. They have a general store(Which also has pizza hut and ice cream - you can also rent videos) as well as activity centers throughout the resort. There are activities going on all the time. Some craft type- some at the swimming pool some with fees some without. They have tennis courts, basketball court, sand volleyball and also shuffle board. They have a small mini golf course (not that great but the kids like it) on site. There are bicycles built for two you can rent and ride around the resort.......many ponds with ducks you can feed......My kids favorite activity when younger was capturing lizards (we used to bring a butterfly type net). They allow blow up toys in the pools and the pools are open very late (I was so upset last year at the Royal Pacific Resort at US when they closed the pool at 10 pm.....we had just got back from the park and was looking for relaxing in the hot tub!!). The activity centers have board games you can rent at no cost for a day. It seems every year some games becomes our favorite activity. This past year it was boogle......my teens could not get enough of it. One year it was the game of Life......Clue.......I know they have a BBQ offered one night with Kareoke (I know I misspelled that but you get the drift) which my sister attended and really had a blast at (She has a daughter who loves to get up and do that type of thing......my three boys......no way). I also know they have some type of activity where they show a movie(at night) on a big screen pool side......this has been a big hit....sort of like a drive in but you are sitting in the pool.....I think if you go to their web site www.vistana.com you can find out the activity schedule. Since we go just about every other year we spend every other day at the resort.

I stayed at the Lakes also, and yes, it was amazing but my son enjoyed the resort so much he didn't want to go to the parks! And that was a first!

Sorry, when I made that last post it was registered in my DD name. You dont happen to have a brother/cousin in the 21year age range, she could be casey casey !!! ha ha.

We got back from 2bed. vistana resort that I won on skyauction. I was very disappointed, as I have posted elsewhere on the board. The unit was #1530 Fountians, it was very outdated maybe the 80s. The applicances were new, and bathrooms looked great, but paneling and furniture from the past. I asked why we couldnt change to a nicer unit, they said these units for for internet renters, not owners, or traders. We did the tour of visitana villages, beautiful, but we own at OKW.

We own in Fountains II, and before we bought, we rented there twice. While I do not like the decor (too Florida-ish for me), the units are large, clean & well appointed. I think "outdated" is a matter of opinion, we stayed in a brand-new unit in another hotel, and I thought that looked outdated too. Maybe it's the whole Florida look that's outdated? Anyway, the one good thing about Fountains or the older sections is that the units are way bigger. We looked to buy in Cascades and the unit was literally half the size and double the price!

Anyway, for the money, you cannot beat Vistana. The pools, rec rooms, whirlpools, activities (mini-golf!), landscaping, etc... to me make up for the decor.

My 2 little cents!
