Sheraton Vistana - Which Section?

We are in the process af ownership being transferred...it's taking longer than expected so the seller had to make a ressie in my name (she has fixed week 19 that I couldn't use this year) She had to call RCI to get a week in july. Do I just get whatever they have & would I be able to find out with my conformation number?

I think RCI confirmation should have the villa number. they have started that.

II always had it.

sorry forgot to add - you are looking for a 4 digit number.

As Pat said, you will get a confirmation number from RCI. But, that being said, Vistana reserves the right to place you wherever they have an opening. You can still request a section (i.e. Lakes or Cascades), but you must get a hold of that RCI confirmation number because the Diamond Lane form will ask you for it.

When you say in "the process of ownership being transferred"----do u mean you purchased their week to own/deed or you are renting it for this summer ? If it's to own, then you will always be placed in whatever section you bought into. But I'm thinking you are just renting.

if they let you pick would go with Casades, Lakes or fountains.

had springs once and despite needing a rehab it was nice too!

last time got lakes and it was definitely an upgrade.

this year getting fountains (I hope)

Have a good time no matter what.

the complaints on tripadvisor about Lakes - well didn't have any of them.

had a nice villa with a wonderful view of the MOWC.

We are buying a fixed week (#19 May 5 this year)...started the paper work in January. There is a delay with the title transfer so she ended up booking us a week in July as her "guests". I know she called RCI, I had to pay 139.00 fee and received a conformation number. It sounds like I will just get where ever they decide to put me. Thanks for everyone's replies :)

Tink.....you should have the name of the section you bought into. Most fixed weeks are the older units. Now some of them are slated for major rehabs next year so that is good. But you will always stay where you buy, unless an exchange/RCI is involved. Then it can change. But if your fixed week is in the Palms section, that is where you will always stay with no option for requesting a newer section. Hoping the owner told you that.

It is a 2 bedroom in the Palms...she didn't want it anymore and signed a quitclaim. Until the kids are a little older, we won't be able to use the fixed week. Just wondering if the RCI fee of $139.00 is normal? She has a RCI membership paid through 2011.

I honestly don't know......it's been quite a few years since I was a member. I do know I've gotten special offers in the mail from RCI and Interval International for 2-3 year specials that sound about that rate.

Spiceycat might be able to help you more with that question.

PS : It's good you bought the Palms. That is one of the sections that is slated for a major rehab next year. So what you see this year if you are placed there, will be totally different from your next visit in 2009. :thumbsup2

Maybe that's the reason she wanted to give it to me...not sure how much that will cost! :rotfl:

yea but the maintence fees might go up because of it. Hope not.

yea sounds like she did an exchange.

Ok...I must apologize here. I mistakenly said the Palms is slated for a rehab. I was wrong. It was the Falls & Springs in 2009 and the Spas and Courts are looking into it after that.

I can give u an idea of what the refurb cost various owners of the different associations. On average, each refurb assessment cost owners $1,300 on top of their regular maintenance. Vistana allowed owners to split the $1,300 assessment into two payments of $650 each. So it's not a permanent increase in dues. Again.....sorry about the Palms misinformation. If I hear of anything, I'll pass it along.
