At the Sheraton Vistana Villages, which is the best section for a family with teens and toddlers?

"Best" without context is always a little subjective but I'll give it a try...

The Bella Florida Village is the largest with buildings looping around the original pool complex and sort of the hub of activity at the resort. That section includes the resort restaurant, the resort's largest pool, a couple of large hot tubs, a childrens' pool area, the resort spa and several poolside "shops." I believe that there's a fitness room and arcade in the main building near the pool, too.

The Key West Village is at the back of the resort. It features the largest sized villas at the resort, an moderately sized pool, a hot tub (maybe two, I can't really remember), a small playground, an arcade, a fitness center, the resort's basketball, tennis and shuffleboard courts. The resort store is right in front of the Key West Village. And this Village was just refurbished (we stayed in a newly refurbed villa there at the beginning of December 2011 and I think that we were the first to be in that one after the refurb was completed).

The St. Augustine Village is the newest village at the resort (built out in 2010-2011) and the buildings surround a pool area that includes a hot tub, the Galleon ship water feature for kids, a playground and a bar/grille. The villas in St. Augustine are nice and up to date but I believe that they are the smallest at the resort.

The Amelia Village is the oddity at the resort. It's located at the front of the resort just on the inside of the wall that encloses the resort and acts as a barrier from International Drive. There's no pool area that's part of Amelia but the section is in front of St. Augustine so it's a short walk to that pool area and a little bit longer walk to the Bella Florida pool area.

The Sheraton Vistana Villages resort is fairly compact and I'd suggest that it's not far from any of the resort's buildings to suitable areas for either teens or toddlers. We liked our two stays in Key West - and primarily used the pool area there during our first stay but had to walk to either St. Augustine or Bella Florida for pool use during our second visit as the Key West pool was closed for refurbishment during that stay. But nobody complained about the short (5 to 10 minutes) walks. We rather enjoyed using different pools during the week. The slightly larger villa size is always nice.

While I don't think that there's a bad location at the resort, I'd suggest either St. Augustine for the newness and the convenience or Key West for the up to date condition and villa size - and the section really is relatively close to the main action of the Bella Florida pool area.

Which building puts us in the prime spot for all the amenties of the resort?

Buildings 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 sort of bracket the main pool complex that includes the restaurant, spa and several other resort amenities. Those buildings are all in the Bella Florida village.

You might also consider Building 23, in St. Augustine village. It's roughly across the street from buildings 1 and 2. So it's a short walk to either the St. Augustine pool area or Bella Florida's waterfall pool area.

This is a fairly compact resort, pretty much any building in either St. Augustine or Bella Florida would place you near a wide range of resort amenities.
