Has anyone stayed here. Which building did you stay in. What did you think of it.

I just got a post card for this resort and it was a great deal. I would do it if I could get more info. We are hoping to go to Universal for a day so 4 days with free universal tickets sounds great. If anyone has any info please post.

Do you mind if I ask where you got the post card from? Do you get free Universal tickets for booking 4 nights? We have already booked for 8 nights and I have heard nothing but fantastic things about vistana. Thanks! :)

You will get the free tickets to universal but will unfortunatly will have to do there 90 tour.
of the resort. Some like it, some dont.

I have no idea where we got the Post card from my husband travels and it came to him. We will have to take a 90 min tour and I doubt that we will because that just is't my hubby's thing. If we were going to buy a timeshare he would get DVC. I'll probably not even get him to look at the Vistana as we drive past. He must have more money than I know about.

We're headed to the Vistana Resort on Feb 11. I'll let you know how it was. So far, I've heard nothing but great things about it. We're real excited!

I'll be staying at Vistana Resorts 2/24-3/3. I bought my 2bdrm week for $500 on ebay two months ago. There is currently a week for rent for the week of 4/22-4/29. The bid is currently $405. GO to http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll? to check it out.

Also, if you do book, take advantage of their website to pre-register using their "diamond checkin". It's supposed to save time.

PS: I am a member of TUG, (Timeshare Users Group). Great site filled with info...and I do not own a timeshare! Well worth the $15.

I stayed at the vistana in may of last year(2000), we had a 2 bedroom unit. It was wonderful, we stayed at the cascades(this was supposed to be the newest phase, they were still working on some units). We paid$110 per night for 10 nights. I thought that was a real bargin, we split it with another family. How can you beat$55 per night. We also saved on the fact that there was a kitchen so the cost of breakfast and lunches were low. For going on a 90 minute tour we received a 8person pass to watermania(a water park not too far away), it wasn't a bad free day, the kids enjoyed it. Good luck and have fun!!!!

I bid on that Vistana resort....

How do you get info about purchasing there. I have tried to find the number and can't. When I call a number from the web site it get put on hold and sent to another person, and this keeps going.

Dan and Scott: I went on the timeshare tour in Jan. It was arranged through Sheraton Starwood Hotels. They were just about sold out but had a few left. They started with a price of $16000 and when I said no, the price quickly dropped to $10,000. Still not interested. Offered a week rental for $900. Still not interested. For our time they offered us a choice of $80 in Disney dollars or 10,000 starwood points. The place is really nice.

Pembo,

Did you win your bid for the week at Vistana? If not, I've seen similar deals out there...a person trying to rent three March weeks (Mar 4, 11, and 18) at Orange Lakes in Orlando, (very nice resort), asking $600/wk and likely will take less because it's last-minute. If interested, email me at estatesale@mediaone.net.

Dan & Scott:

Do not call the resort to buy....you'll waste thousands of dollars! If you have specific week in mind to buy, search out the resale market first. A unit selling for 10K - 14K by the developer will be available to you for as little as 3K as a resale, for EXACTLY the same thing! Also, a rule-of-thumb for timesharing is not to buy in Florida unless you're going to return there every year....it's very easy to "trade" into Florida using a week from another resort from out-of-state.

Before you ever buy a timeshare, I highly recommend checking out the "Timeshare Users Group", www.tug2.net. You can lurk on their BBS and soak up knowledge of timesharing for free. I surf a lot and this is still the best website I've found, (right up there with this one) for sharing general and specific knowledge on a subject.

I became a member there last year, (for $15) and immediately save 8K....the members answered my questions in-depth. With their help, I just purchased a timeshare resale for less than 1K, which will actually trade to almost anywhere I want to go...many times, even the best resorts in Fla cannot do that, simply because the trading power of a Fla unit is diluted by the sheer volume of rooms available!

Hope this helps!
