Both 2B/2B condos. Windsor Hills will save us $300 over the course of 10 days but we have never stayed there so I dont know how it compares. We have stayed at SVR before and know we like it plus I like the convenience of being close. Any comments greatly appreciated.

I haven't stayed at either resort. $300 over 10 days is only $30 a day. Vistana is closer. Will certainly make a difference if some of your group wants to go to a park or come back from a park earlier (or later) then the rest of you. Taxi cost will be less. It will take less time if you want to drop that person off.

Not really an apples to apples comparison. One is a timeshare resort with a management company (SVR), the other (WH) is a vacation home community.

You will probably have more space at WH, possibly your own pool, but each unit is individually owned and furnished; make sure you are happy with the specific unit you are getting at WH. The downside is that you will generally have to do more cleaning on departure, and I don't think daily housekeeping is an option; but I stand to be corrected. Our family is timeshare all the way, so haven't personally stayed at WH!

At SVR it is more like a hotel in the sense that all units are equally equipped, there is housekeeping available (although most people stick with the standard mid-week tidy and towel change), and there are more amenity options. If you are seriously dissatisfied with a particular unit, there is the option of being moved to another unit. There are lots of different pools on resort (7 of them!), but you won't have a private pool. There are dining and shopping options on resort.

If my whole party can fit in a condo like the Vistana, I prefer that to a house, as I enjoy the resort feel of a lovely timeshare resort. I think prices in Orlando are so reasonable for these for what you get and the higher price than a VRBO is worth it to me. // I do, though, really like to have a whole gang stay together, so if I have a party of more than eight I usually go for a house. // This has meant timeshare condo resorts for most of my Orlando days with a few house rentals thrown in for full week trips.

Thanks guys, we ended up booking at WH. Our first time. Combine that with YES tickets we successfully booked and we were able to save $550 for 10 days for the 6 of us.
