We have stayed at Wyndahm Bonnet creek and are considering the Sheraton Vistana LBV. Anyone got any tips or suggestions...hoping we like it as much! Anything we will miss? We always have a car...so shuttles not factoring in.

it is different.

most building are Disney size 3 to 5 floors - don't think any higher. It has more swimming pools - but they are spread out. SVR is just a bigger place - acreage wise. There is alot to do there - it is closer to Downtown Disney - but further from the parks.

you can walk to offsite restaurants - Wendy's, Chick-a-lay, a couple of sit down restuarants - across the street (this is a big street 3 to 4 lanes on each side - but it is not consider a highway) - Florida is strange - 535. Is a couple of hotels, blue Herron, Dollar Tree, and in the smallest mall area - is a Golden Coral and a couple of other restaurants.

think you will enjoy it!

There are 2 Vistana's in the area, neither are in LBV (which is West of I-4) but both are in Orange County. The larger of the two is Sheraton Vistana Resort on 535 just across I-4 from the DTD area. The best thread for information on that resort is here:

It's an old thread, so start near the end and work back as needed.

Sheraton Vistana Villages is a bit further North up I-Drive, but still very close to the parks. It's a bit smaller but newer than the Resort. Best information thread for the Villages is here:

They are both great resorts, and the buildings are lower than the WBC towers. Villas all have exterior doors that makes it feel more like a villa to me - but I've never liked high-rises.

You might miss the lazy river, but the pools are great; both resorts have waterfalls and slides at one pool at least. Access to Disney parks by car is very good; see the threads above for best routes. No resort fees, and no charge for parking. Free basic wi-fi throughout, extra charge for premium wi-fi (performance of standard wi-fi is acceptable for "vacation" use - my son couldn't download games very well, but no problems checking park times etc).

We stayed at the Vistana on 535 last year but prefer the Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa just down the road since the rooms are twice the size of the Vistana.

According to the information provided by each of the properties you referenced, your statement is not correct. In fact, its exactly opposite.....based on two bedroom sizing, the Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa offers the SMALLEST accommodations.

Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa lists their two bedroom suites as being 1080 square feet:

The Sheraton Vistana Villages list their two bedroom villas as 1100 square feet:

And Sheraton Vistana Resort list their 2 bedroom villas at various sizes, depending on the section to which you are assigned, with the Fountains 1, Spas, Palms and Springs offering 1260 square feet, Lakes offering 1174, Fountains II providing 1211, etc.

Note that I haven't stayed at any of these properties yet, so I don't have a bias either way, I just think its important that accurate details be shared for the OP.

We have stayed at the WBC and the SVR both several times. Both resorts are nice. We stayed at WBC when we needed a 3 BR and used the Disney transportation which was free when we stayed there. Enjoyed the pools with slides. Liked seeing Epcot from our balcony & seeing the fireworks. Didn't' really like the high rise and buildings all cluster together. Sometimes hard to find a chair at the pool.

My family actually prefers the SVR if you only need a 2 BR. The construction is much better - very quiet, lush landscaping and the pools & activities are awesome. A huge plus is the large screen lanai with table/chairs. Much nicer than WBC open balcony. More food options and closer to offsite restaurants & shopping. Very easy drive to Disney. You definitely need a car for this resort. We like the Fountains area the best. The renovated units are FABULOUS.

Thanks again! We are ONLY looking at Sheraton Vistana this trip....too good a deal to pass up with the family working for Starwood! I am getting excited for something new. Off to keep reading the thread! ;-)
