My family & I will be there for a week in June and though we have no intention of purchasing a timeshare my DH is thinking " let's sit through a presentation to see what the freebies are" . Can anyone tell me what they may come at us with? I don't want to waste my time for a free breakfast but if they offered something really attractive.....

Whatever the inducement is, it probably isn't worth it to go through a timeshare presentation.

Our only timeshare presentation took place at Vistana eleven years ago (I know that a lot can change in eleven years). I agreed to it because they were offering up $100 in Disney Dollars and something else (can't remember what it was) for the 90-minutes. And I'm really not bashing Vistana, from what I understand Vistana's is a lot less pressured and stressful than some other Orlando-area timeshare sales pitches. I had no real complaints about dealing with the salesperson - a bit of genuine annoyance and some additional pressure when I told her that we weren't buying, but not a lot - or the sales manager, but the time spent was ridiculous. Our 90-minute presentation lasted for about 3 hours (the time spent talking with the salesperson during breakfast doesn't count toward the 90-minutes). I now own some timeshare weeks but I'd never again waste my vacation time on a sales presentation for one. So be cautious about whether you really want to tie yourselves up for something like this.

Thank you - the time involved never occurred to me. You're right - there is no way I want to tie up 3 hours of vacation time on this!

I'll just chime in.....last timeshare "breakfast" we went to (we're owners and were offered $75) lasted about 3 hours as well. We tried to leave at 90 min and the salesperson got really nasty/difficult with us. Making every excuse in the book not to pay us. At one point, he left us sitting at the table and walked away for like 20 min. My husband had to get up and go get him and ask for our money as it was now well past the 90 min. We will NEVER again go to a Vistana timeshare spiel. Last year, we tried our best to avoid the "owner's breakfast" (it's really a ploy to get owners to buy more time). We unplugged our phones etc. Came home one afternoon from the parks and there was a not-so-friendly not taped to our door. The Vistana rep pretty much said we owed it to her to go to the breakfast after "all she did" to get us checked in ? We're like "hello !? We pay alot of money to be owners". Still trying to figure out what we "owed" her. Ticked us off big time.
We find the sales pressure so bad that they are pushing us into wanting to sell our week.

i went to this in october - i have no intention on buying because i just use my mom's exchanges - i went to the sales pitch told them immediately that i was not interested and told them why - the salesman i had just didnt get it - after 10 minutes his manager came over and i explained the same to him - he told me he completely understood because his kids do the same thing with his - me and him discussed different amusement parks (cedar point, busch gardens, etc) he thanked me and gave me the form to take to the counter for my gift. i thought i was just getting tickets to a dinner show or something like that - i walked out of there with $100 cash plus $100 to use on property at either the general store, their restaurants or their bars. not bad for appx 25 minutes of my time - i made sure to schedule this for a day i knew we werent going to the parks until later in the day
