Has anyone stayed at the Sheraton Safari? I think it is in Disney Village (I think thats what its called) What is it like? TIA

My DD's and I stayed there for 8 nights in July 2004. Staff was great, room nice and clean. It's on Apopka-Vineland (don't know if that's Disney Village).

Several restaurants within walking distance. Also a few drugstores for grabbing not so expensive snacks.

My DD's loved loved loved the python slide. Every night as soon as we got back to the hotel they would make a bee-line for the pool (note the slide closes at 8pm or did when we were there)

Bus services was good - only used it in the am, found it was easier to catch a cab to get back.

Be sure to sign up to be a Starwood prefered member, if available you'll get free upgrade to the next category room.

Do you happen to know about how far away it is from the parks? Which park is it closest to?

It is not in the "Disney Village" area (Grovenor, Hilton, Royal Plaza, etc.) but it is pretty close. As your coming out of Hotel Plaza Blvd (above hotels) turn left. Along that strip you'll find many restaurants, grocercy stores, drug stores, etc.

I have...

Eh, it's OK. The carpet when you first walk in feels weird (even though I'm always wearing shoes)
