We were booked into the Holiday Inn Ocean Front for the night before our cruise in December. Unfortunatley (moreso for them than myself- I am just inconvienced they are devistated) the hotel was hit pretty hard and will not be open until 2005. So I booked the Sheraton Safari (via priceline) . I am hoping that this is a good hotel and stuff to do/eat nearby. I really didn't want to be this far up but the stuff near the port is iffy. I hope it is not too far from the airport at least.
Anyone been there , hve photos etc?

The Sheraton Safari in Lake Buena Vista? Um, if I'm reading your post correctly you may have a bit of a problem, location-wise.

The Safari is just outside the Downtown Disney gates to Disney World. I think it's a perfectly comfortable hotel, but it is in no way close to the cruise port, which is more than an hour away in Port Canaveral, on the east coast. It is in fact 20 minutes from the Orlando airport, but in the direction of Tampa; the *opposite* direction than the route you must take to get to the cruise port.

Since you booked on PL you can't do anything. If you have a late flight then I would have just booked an airport hotel. You're basically going to have to rent a car to go to your hotel and then drive to the port the next day.

What transfers do you have? What did you pay for the hotel? It might be cheaper to just ditch your reservation (or try to sell it) and book something by MCO.

That was never an issue, we have stayed at MCO for one cruise, right by universal for another cruise and flyed in the day of for two cruises, I already knew that it was an hour to the port, originally we were going to drive the hour when we got in on Friday at 2:00 and stay at Cocoa beach but since that ressie got cancelled we decided to stay near the airport and make the drive in the morning, I wanted a nice place and to not spend a whole lot so the 20 min extra drive is not a big deal because so many of the cocoa beach hotels were shut down there is hardly anything available there or at the airport for a decent price, I would rather pay 49.00 to stay at a Sheraton than 69.00 to stay at Amerisuites.
