We need a room only for one night & I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this hotel?

Thanks for any advise!!

Angie

I was wondering the same thing. I actually called the resort last night and they were very very pushy trying to get me to reserve on the phone. That was a first for me. I had seen what I think was them on priceline and thought about booking but I am probably going to pass after the phone conversation and other things I have read online about them through tripadvisor.

I have a ressie at the Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista right now but am always on the lookout for a better deal (especially for one night) :).

This hotel is undergoing a major renovation (removing the Safari theme). The renovation should be completed by Jan. There is information & photos on their facebook page.

They probably want the business. There are so many hotels to choose from & lots of competition. I always book online-hate those pushy phone calls too!! I liked the idea of the on-site restaurants there & since its only for one night, I guess I could deal with anything as long as the room was clean.

We will be just coming off a 17 hr drive so we definately just need a place to crash. Im sure we'll be tired. We wont be going to the world at all so a place that has food & a bed is good for me!!

I also looked at the reviews & was a little scared. But there are some that say it's great & others that hated it. It is hard to judge withhout knowing their situations & what went wrong, etc. I think the place is going under construction now so I definately wouldnt want to stay there for more than one night.

Hopefully someone will come along & give us a better review.

Thanks, and good luck!!

Angie

Thanks for the facebook info! I checked it out.

We have stayed here twice both times for just one night and only because we got a really cheap rate via Priceline name your own price. I would never pay the going rate at this hotel. If I recall correctly we paid around $50.00 a night with the priceline deal.

We really were not impressed with the hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The pool area was dated and the pool slide height requirment was too high for my then 5 year old which was a huge bummer. Parking later at night was a huge issues as there were not enough spaces. Over all the hotel was dated and worn out. The staff was not very freindly either. I just feel there are far better options in the area then this hotel.

I was thinking of trying Priceline too. If I got this hotel, would you say it's okay just to sleep for one night? Did you eat there at all? We would be staying on a Fri night in Dec & I read on their website that they had a breakfast buffet on sat & sun's. Might not need the pool.

I guess cheaper is not always better!!

Thanks again,

Angie

I just found Buena Vista Suites for $89 per night. It has a restaurant and includes breakfast in the morning. Pictures look great and it was a huge suite. The $89 price can be gotten through mousesavers or dreamsunlimited. Looks great to me!

we stayed there a few years ago and I would never stay there again. can't believe sheraton would put their name on it.
go elsewhere, then thank me later.

Run, run, run from the Safari. Really, how can Sheraton still have their name attached to this place? I know it's going through a rehab, but believe me when I say it better be a complete gut job!

There are a lot of renovations going on right now. If you want to stay there now you can do it pretty cheaply. Just call and ask for rate code "RENO". You can get a room for $59

ETA- it is pretty much getting completely redone. New everything. New pool, restaurant, rooms, parking lots...everything. Right now though its a work in progress so just be aware of that.

I would stay at Lake Buena Vista Suites over this hotel any time. It has a decent free breakfast, large nice rooms, friendly staff and free parking. Oh and no resort fee.

I could do SS for a night, if it was cheap, but perfer not to.

If you're really looking for a cheap, clean place to just sleep and shower our go to just crash, shower and dash off to the parks motel is Clarion Inn on Palm Parkway. Always cheap, clean, safe and friendly staff. Depending on season rates are anywhere from $39-$79 a night.

I hope this helps.

I have ended up not being able to chance Sheraton Safari. We ended up booking Buena Vista Suites instead. In the grand scheme of money it really isn't that big a deal and I will have peace of mind :).
