I received an offer from the Sheraton Maui for 6 days/5 nights garden view accomodations, plus $100 in dining certificates, plus $185 Avis rental car certificate for $749 total for 2 people. Since these rooms are close to $300/night on some travel websites, it seems like a great deal.

Any thoughts on this hotel?

I have heard wonderful things about the Sheraton. It situated on Black Rock which is a great snorkeling site. I would take it.

Funny you should ask!! I am just pricing this using Pleasant Hawaiian or Sun Trips. Does your price include airfare? This is a great, deluxe hotel right on the beach-You will not be disappointed.

That's where we spent part of our honeymoon way back in 1987!! It was a beautiful area.

It's been many years since I was there, but at that time it was really nice. Every evening at sundown, a guy dressed in native attire came running down the beach carrying a torch. He would run out on the big rock outcropping in front of the hotel. At the end, he threw the torch in the ocean and then he dove in after it. Very cool!

Jeafl...I am assuming that the $749 is per person. That works out to $299 per night. does that include tax?
if that is for garden view you could prob book cheaper on Sheraton's website or Expedia.

if....that is for 2 people...then I would buy it right now. but I would have to question something that good. The Sheraton Maui is a 4 star hotel and starts at about $229 per night. There are better rates out there but $749 works out to $149 per night. :earseek: :earseek:

let us know what you decide or find out. We are planning a Hawaii trip for Sept this year and would love to hear about the Sheraton. :smooth:

My DH & I spent a week there last March to celebrate our 10th annivesary. We splurged on an oceanfront room. It was AWESOME! The pool is wonderful, the ocean and Black Rock are beautiful and great snorkling is right at your doorstep. We saw turtles while snorkling right off the shore at Black Rock. The restaurants are expensive at the hotel but so is everything. I would absolutely stay there again.

I stayed there. It was in high school, but I remember that we loved it. It was a gorgeous resort, and Maui is so beautiful.

Funny story. My little sister had a way of embarrassing us and making it look like we never went anywhere. My mom was trying to prevent her from doing anything too embarrassing, so as the bellman was escorting us to our room, my mom pulled her back a couple of steps and quietly told her that we were staying at a nice resort, so my sister should try to act low-key. She told her that we had had to get the cheapest room because the place was so nice. My sister got wide-eyed and loudly asked, "You mean there was only one cheap room and we got it?" I guess she thought we were staying in the janitor's closet. :teeth:

Disney Kim, it is $749 for 2 adults and up to 2 children in the room. It's a special promotion for select Starwood members. I've read the fine print several times, and as far as I can tell the only catch is that you have to book "the deal" within the next 15 days, and that you have to pay $300 up front. You have to pay the remaining $449 when you actually book your exact dates. You also have to use it within 18 months. Christmas and spring break are blacked out.

There is also a cancellation fee of $100 I think.

Oh, and it also does NOT include airfare.
