We are flying in a day early before my resort stay begins and we are planning on staying at the safari but since i made the ressie i have read nothing but bad reviews about this place has anyone stayed here recently?

I don't know where you read those reviews but I've always had a great stay. Here's some DIS reviews:

I've stayed at a few off-property hotels and this has always been one of the best - for location, cleanliness and a friendly staff. In fact, I'm heading back there next week for my 4th stay!!!

I've stayed there about 2-3 times. Once in 2004, and twice in 2006. I had a good stay. It's not luxurious, but I think it's a pretty good moderate hotel, especially for the prices you get for it. It's not too far if you have a car and I always had a pretty pleasant experience. Also, I think they recently remodeled. I don't know if it helps, but I hope!
