Shepards Pie Recipe

We've enjoyed sheaprds pie at both Raglan Road and especially at the Rose and Crown.

Anyone have a the recipe for either of these two restaurants?

We've tried to make our own but no luck and we like these two.

I don't know if this is the exact one they use but I like this one:

Personally, I find it is best to play around with the basic ingredients, adding in extras like extra carrot or baked beans or ketchup to the ground beef until you reach the taste you like.

I no longer have the recipe for The Shepard's Pie from Raglan Road yet I do know it is made with lamb and prime rib. Here is a recipe from Rose & Crown. Enjoy!

Cottage Pie
Rose & Crown -- Epcot's World Showcase
Serves: 4

1/4 cup butter
1 cup diced onion
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon ground savory
1 cup brown gravy
2 cups mashed potatoes
Additional butter

Heat 1/4 cup butter in a 9-inch skillet. Add onion and cook until lightly browned, stirring. Add beef, salt, pepper and savory and continue cooking 5 minutes longer.
Stir in gravy and heat until bubbling. Spoon into a buttered 8-cup flat casserole dish. Top meat mixture with mashed potatoes.
Dot with pieces of butter.
Bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until potatoes are lightly browned.

I recently made the R&C recipe you can find more on allearsnet.com. The first time that I made it I couldn't find the ground savory anywhere so I just substituted seasonings that I would use on regular basis I also used some minced garlic cook it when you cook the onions.
