Day 2
We woke up about 5 times during the night and finally gave up about 6:00. The commotion of two excited adults continually packing and unpacking their day sacks woke Lucy. We had booked a wake up call from Mickey for 6:30 and when the phone finally rang Lucy answered it and when she realised who was talking her little face said it all. We think it was Mickey but the start of the call sounded like Stitch? (Now we will have to wait till next year to get to the phone first before Lucy so we can find out who it was!)
Speaking with the Mouse
We watch a little Tv then its washed and dressed and heading down to the food court for some breakfast before heading for MK. Myself and Martyn just have a drink and Lucy chooses an awful cerial with marshmellows in it. Surprisingly she eats all of it. We meet up with Sheila and Rob and we have a quick look around the resort shop before heading off to catch the bus.
We don't have to wait long for one to come and we all jump on. No chewing gum or grafitti on this bus! I was feeling so excited now and really looking forward to the
day ahead. When we get there we have to go to guest services to exchange our Virgin vouchers for the Hopper passes. As we are waiting we are told that Sheila has been issued the wrong tickets so she has to go back and get the right ones. We are not really sure at this point what is going on but we have been waiting around 15 minutes now. It all gets sorted and we are given some fast passes to keep us happy. Now we can enter the park.
WOHOOOO
As we enter Minnie is there having her picture taken and signing autographs for everyone. Just the sight of her sent tingles down the spine. With Cinderella's castle in the background, the sun shining, smiles on every face and a sweet smell in the air - we have well and truly arrived in Disney. Anyway we hadn't yet bought an autograph book for Lucy so we decide to head up Main Street and buy one. We go into the Emporium and overwhelmed by it all i just want to buy everything but we leave with and autograph book and a pink minnie hat with ears on for Lucy. We now make our way towards the castle. The park is already very busy.
We decide to make a start in Tomorrowland. We get to meet Stitch and Buzz and get our pictures taken with them as well as the all in important autographs!
Me and Stitch
The remnants of Tropical Storm Arlene find their way over Disney and its starting to rain, so we head for Stitch's Great Escape. We do child swap and Martyn and I go on first. This is very funny and we both enjoyed it especially the breathing in the dark. While Rob and Shiela are on, we decide to go and buy Lucy a poncho as its raining harder. We head over to Space Mountain and get 3 fastpasses for Martyn, Shiela and Rob. I don't like the sound of this ride and decide to give it a miss. Lucy likes the look of Indy Speedway, so i take her on and she loves it though she does keep asking "Mummy why do you keep bumping us around!?!".
Only 14years to go!
While we are waiting for the fast passes we go over to Fantasyland so we can take Lucy on some rides she would like. She chooses the Mad Tea Party ride first. Myself, Martyn, Sheila and Lucy all jump into a cup. Lucy loves this ride and giggles all the way round. Rob does the taping on the camcorder as hes not to good with motion - hes not too good at taping either as he points the camera at the floor for 2 minutes while still taping! Next its onto The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. We all liked that ride and when we finish on here its time for the fast passes. Lucy and i decide to wait in Fantasyland while they go on Space Mountain. We have a look around Pooh's Thotful Shop, Lucy buys a Heffalump Pez sweety thing and then we go and find a quiet bench. (As if we found an actual quiet bench!). With the rain now stopped, the heat and humidity shot up and Lucy is struggled with the heat. I change her clothes and she has a big drink and we sit in the shade until they come back.
The three thrill seekers return pale faced and spiky haired and of course laughing. They all agreed that Space Mountain had not lost its charm.
Everyone is getting hungry now and we eat in The Pinocchio Village haus. Martyn and Rob have burger and fries, I have a hot dog and Lucy has a kiddies hot dog. Sheila's not too hungry and just has some water. We now do its a Small World. This is a lovely ride and Lucy really liked it but i had that song stuck in my head for days. The queues for Peter Pan are huge so we get a fast pass for it which is for 2 hours later. However we have now spotted Ariels Grotto and join the line for this. As we are waiting a Cast Member informs us that it could start raining any time and if it does Ariel will swim away (Mermaids must'nt like water). Anyway, luckily it doesn't (yet) and Lucy gets to meet her
Favourite Princess. Martyn has also fallen in love with Ariel.

Everyone wants to go on to Splash mountain so we make our way over to Frontierland. The wait time is over an hour so fast passes we were given by the Cast Member are used. Rob and Sheila go first, whilst we wait near the ride exit but by now the heat is very uncomfortable. so what is the solution to a hot day? Mickey Ice Cream of course! We get the ice cream, some more water and Lucy has some pop corn. Its our turn now and i'm a bit nervous as i'm a big wimp when it comes to rides. We pass all the people who are waiting to get on and theres loads of them. We don't have to wait very long, a few minutes and were on. (I love fast pass and child swap) We get the last seats, I didn't want to sit near the front. I put on Lucy's poncho and it's off to the Laughing Place! I loved this ride so we decide to buy the picture. The parade is passing as we come off the ride, we manage to catch the last of the floats. How do they keep cool in those giant see through balls?!
We have a walk around and take a few pictures which debating on which land and ride next. Sheila really wants to go in the Haunted Mansion so we hit the queues once more. This wasn't such a good idea, Lucy didn't like the dark at all. Luckily i spotted a door that we could exit from and me and Lucy escape outside. As we are sat waiting on a bench the thunder starts in the background and the clouds start to look very dark and angry.
Once we are all back together its now time to do the ride that Lucy has been waiting for all day - Peter Pan. We make our way back to Fantasyland and park the pram in the stroller parking. (earlier we had left the pram parked just outside its a small world and when we came off the ride, we couldn't find it. A cast member had moved it over to STROLLER PARKING!). Lucy and I really loved this ride. Anyone spotted Ariel in the Peter Pan ride? When we come off the ride the heavens have opened and we get soaked. Rob and Sheila already had some ponchos from a previos trip and Lucy had one but myself and Martyn don't. We make our way back into Pinocchios Haus but it seems everyone else has done this too. Theres no room anywhere and the floors soaking. Kindly Sheila and Rob go and buy 2 ponchos for Martyn and I. By now Lucys has had enough and I wouldn't mind getting some dry clothes on so we decide to go back to ASMO get showered and have something to eat. Rob and Sheila decide to stay at MK. As we make our way to the bus the rain is really coming down now and we are running
through some very deep puddles.
We get on a very busy, very packed bus. After showering and getting some clean clothes on we hit I-drive for our evening meal. Martyn spots a Chinese that he would like to try and we park up. I think it was called the China Jade? It was an all you can eat buffet and was full of Brits. The food is reasonable, Lucy has some plain rice which she attempts to eat but she is very tired from the time difference and is struggling to keep her eyes open. We now think it would be a good idea if we were to go back to MK for the fire works. So now its a mad dash to get back to the resort and get on the next bus. The driver tells us we should just make it, and sure enough we do make it with plenty of time.
We try texting and ringing Rob but we haven't quite figured how to ring another English mobile yet so we don't get through.
We find a good spot to watch the fire works and wait for them to start.
We are really happy that we went back as the display was fantastic. We see Tinkerbell fly through the air and Lucy is fasinated by it all. As the fire works are coming to an end Martyn has us do a mad dash back to the bus stop so we can get ahead of the crowds. This was a good idea as we get onto the first bus and get a precious seat!. We see Rob and Sheila as we are waiting and call them forward but they hold back and get on the next bus. We all meet up in the food court for a drink before we go to bed. We chat about the day and what were going to do tomorrow and agree on Typhoon Lagoon. We all walk back to the rooms and say goodnight.
It's a quick wash and booking the wake up call for the morning. The lights are off and watch a little tv, before
i know it we are fast asleep.
