ok all you other busy moms...

How long does your pedicures typically last? I need to sneak out and get one before we go away. I can't justify paying for 2 in the next two weeks, but I also am tight on time for when I can go.

In my single days it was no problem getting them as desired, but since I'm now happy if I can have 2 minutes to pee with the door closed, I am finding it tricky to find some pampering time at a salon.

If I go to a regular pedicure place, they usually last a month, but if I get them in a beauty salon, they usually only last a week or two.

I would get one a couple of weeks before. I got one a week before our trip and I wish I had those callous because my feet hurt where they had taken the callouses off!

I'm good for about a month too....good tip not to get a "fresh" pedi before our trip! I'll have to remember that~!

Mine don't usually last more than 2 weeks. Maybe my toenails grow quickly? Who knows!?? I know I am always trimming the kids' nails!!

I go every 3 wks but not because the polish is wearing off, but because my nails start getting too long. LOVE pedicures! I'm going to see if instead of pretty little flowers they will paint a Mickey head on for me before we go! :)

This is off-topic but I'm just curious, HerdOHuds do you have quads?

About three-to-four weeks. I find the polish wears off the ends of my toenails from my sneakers but I can touch that up, no problem.

I can usually go about 2 months before they start to look bad. I always use a light pink polish. Basically, it's the same pink most salons use for a french manicure. Maybe a little bit darker. It works great, because even if the polish chips a little or they grow out, it's not noticeable. I look down, and they still look shiny and new even at 6-8 weeks. I usually have to trim them between pedi's, but it's easier to find time to trim than to polish (at least for me). :) I have to look really close to notice that I'm ready for another pedi. :rotfl:

I don't allow them to do that - first of all, the callous is there for a reason! Second, that thing scares the life outa me! All it is is a straight blade! No thanks - just paint the nails and I'm outa there! :lmao:

Yep. Three pirates and a princess. Not too much time for pedis in my life, but I have lucked out 2times in the past 2 months. Next one probably won't happen until July!

If you bring your own polish or buy some there, it's super easy to touch up. Mine usually need touching up within two weeks, but I use brighter colors. Pale colors don't show the wear/growth as quickly. Enjoy the pampering!

Mine only looks *really* good for about a week. I always get one right before I go away.

Wow, my pedicurist just uses a pumice to smooth my heels and the bottoms of my feet. A straight blade sounds like a torture device! :scared1:

I go every 3 or 4 weeks. I usually get one right before I go down and they look great for the entire time I'm there.

Mine always last about 4 weeks. But I always try to book as close to my trip as possible just incase.
Can't wait- heading down in April 20th, just book my pedi for the 17th!!

I agree with the tip,DONT get callous' removed before a major walking trip"!!
GOOD advice

My ped usually is good for a month.:goodvibes

I normally go about once a month, sometimes a bit more in the summer since I don't wear shoes most of the time;)

Its against the law here in VT for someone to use the razor.... Very Risky for infection.... I have had it done once (it was a surprise when she wam wammm did it) i was sick to my stomach thinking she was going to cut me!!!

I bring Revlon Colorstay polish with me, I swear that stuff really lasts a long time!! Even red on my fingernails lasted my whole trip last time--not one chip! I shudder to think what dangerous chemical combo accounts for this...
