Shelburne or Regency in NY hidden fees?

We are planning to try trading out for either the Shelburne or Regency in NYC. Knowing NYC rates, taxes, and hotel fees.....just wondering if the hotel charged you any fees that were a surprise. I know we get charged $95 at the time of reservation....but didn't know if the hotel tacks on any other fees???

We stayed at the Shelburne in November of last year. Loved the location and had a blast!

The only misc. charge that showed up was something for two dollars and change that was charged to my card. I called and they said they'd research it and get back to me. They didnt call back, so I contested the charge with my credit card and it was removed.

But, there isnt any parking (and i wouldnt advise renting a car). Grand Central is an easy walk ...

All hotels in New York City have a $2.50 Occupancy Fee. That very well could have been the charge that was added...

We just stayed recently at the Regency. Looked over my bill and nothing but the Room Service Charges!

We loved it there!
