Gave her a $20 tip!!!
One of the waitresses I work with accidentally spilled a glass of lemonade in one of her customer's laps. She was very apologetic of course, and he was very gracious and kind about it. Of course he and his wife's meals were "on the house" but he insisted on paying. Said if he couldn't pay the bill, he'd leave it as her tip. Can you believe it??? I told her we should all try that trick to get a good tip. LOL. Of course, not really! But I mean, someone else could have caused a real stink about it, but he was so sweet and nice to her. The owner let her keep $5 and then put the other $15 in the register, as their bill was about $17. I've always worried about spilling something on someone, but - knock on wood - I haven't...so far.
