Shaun White...he rocks

Why hello there!Heard our town on the news enough these days?;)

No kidding. I like White and think snowboarding is super fun to watch; however my favorite events are: Nordic Cross, Biathlon, & Hockey. I could watch these three events all day long....I barely made it through the 6 or 8 long programs of men's figure skating the other night.

Why do I know something in Naperville is going to be named after EL--and it will be something ridiculous too like the 'Gold Evan Lysacek Carillon'. You get where I am going, can't wait to see Mayor Pradel "Welcome" EL back to Naperville on the cable access channel.

Not saying the kid is not a good performer, but our city gets so out of control when they think they can fly their flag. The city that doesn't even have an ice rink mind you--All Seasons is in unincorporated. I am sure now that we have an Olympian the city will have to incorporate the land.

I also love him. I think it is so cool that he was an amazing little kid that skate boarded and transferred it over to snowboarding. He seems to get how lucky he is to be doing what he loves and get paid for it. He is the perfect Olympian! I loved that he went for it despite the fact he had already won the gold.

I agree, he is amazing...He probably embraces life due to his family...a little known fact is that he had 2 major surgeries to correct a heart condition before the age of 1.

I'm envious of his hair. I wish I knew what product he used in it. Would it be weird if I printed off a picture and said give me that hair cut and all the products he uses?:rotfl:

Oh yeah he can board like no one's business. The ramp/tube thingy he had built in the middle of no where is just so awesome.

he mentioned that on Oprah, that his mom can't watch the X Games footage of his face plant...AND that his family allowed him to pursue a no name sport when he was little and supported him, so not only do we need more Shaun Whites in this worl, we need more parents like his too!

YEP! Shaun definitely rocks!

However, so does Evan Lysacek. And he won without a quad because he performed a much cleaner program. He landed every jump perfectly, while Evgeni did not. He also did many more difficult jumps at the end of his program, when the skater is tired and so earned bonus points for that. Just doing the quad wasn't enough. It had to be perfect, and so did the rest of your performance. Evan's program was better thought out as to how to make up the difference in points for not doing a quad.

I agree with both paragraphs! :)

And he is a Millionaire already, since Torino!:thumbsup2 Has made lots $$ from endorsements. Hope he doesn't screw it up, like Tiger did!;)

Shaun White is awesome!!!!!!! I really like Louie Vito too, I was really bummed that Louie didn't medal. I knew Shaun would, unless something really bad happened. I was so excited for him, and I loved his last move, soooooooooo cool!!!!

I like Evan too, I thought he did a great job even without the quad. Yevgeny Plushenko is my favorite male skater (currently skating that is) and I thought his long performance was nowhere near as good as Evan's was. Even with the quads I don't think Yevgeny deserved a gold.

Another Shaun White fan here too - I love that kid. Saw him on Primetime or 20/20, I forget which - a few weeks back and have been following him ever since. I just love his attitude! And his hair too, I am also envious. For those on facebook join his fan page.

Access Hollywood is going to talk to Shaun in a few minutes, and they ask about his hair for those of you interested.....Yeah, you know, I get the Tiger comparison talent wise....kinda ends there for me tho.

I like all of the US snowboarding team. Shaun White kind of gets on my nerves though. I wish he would lose just once so the rest of the team like Scotty Lago, Greg Bretz, and Louie Vito would get a chance for gold.

But as a person, he's awesome!

Boo. For hoping he'd lose, that is. He's charming. I, too, love his hair (which has nothing to do with the sport, I realize). I do like the other players on the team, too, and I hope they do well. This, however, appears to be Shaun's year. He deserves it.
