Sharps disposal

I will be traveling with a friend who will need to dispose of injection needles. Because this is a new experience for me, I’ve never noticed if there are sharps disposal containers in the regular restrooms or if we need to take things to the first aid station. Any advice is appreciated. TIA

I take a small container with me as every now and then the sharp container are full in the bathroom. This way I have some where to keep the used sharp until I find a container that is not full

Definitely do this. When we went in October with my mom who is a T1 diabetic, many were full. She ended up keeping them in her purse in a container and stopping at first aid on the way out for the night to dispose of them.

Another idea is a little tool that snips off and holds the needles. They’re about $3-4 at pharmacies and hold hundreds of needles.
