Hi,

I have recently started having daily injections. We will be at WDW for 3 weeks, and I think that I'll need to dispose of my used needles before getting on the plane for the return flight to the UK.

I was wondering if there is any way of disposing of a sharps container at, or around WDW? Is there a charge for this?

Thanks for any help, this is all very new to me.

You can leave it at the fire stations on Disney property. There is no charge.

If you are staying at a Disney Resort, Mousekeeping will provide you with one at no charge and will dispose of it properly when you depart.

I'll never forget my disappointment when I asked for one at the resort and it was just a plain old sharps container like the ones I use at home! I was expecting one with mouse ears or a crown or something!

Michigan and Cheshire Figment thank you very much for the fast replies.:thumbsup2

That's one less thing I need to worry about.:goodvibes

ttintagel your reply made me laugh. Oh well, at least now I don't have to look for Hidden Mickeys on it.

Housekeeping will bring a sharps container and you just leave it in the room when you check out.

However, I no longer use a sharps cntainer as I have purchased a needle clipper - you just stick the needle in the little hole and push down. The needles stays sealed inside the body of clipper and you throw the barrel portion into the trash. It is supposed to hold 1500 clipped needles. When it is full, I was told, just wrap it in duct tape and put it in the regular garbage. I have to say, I like it.

I got my from a pharmacy for about $8 but they sell them on Amazon.

Sharps disposal containers have also started appearing in the restrooms in the parks. I'm not sure all of them have it though, but if you needed to inject in the park you might run across one of these you wouldn't need to carry around the needle all day (then again you could always go to First Aid to get rid of it too...)
