Sharpie or Fabric Pen?

I hope this is the right place to post this....you all seem very knowlegable in this sort of thing!

My boyfriend is going to be getting a dark blue or black baseball cap autographed for his dad.

Would it be better to use a silver Sharpie or some sort of fabric pen/marker? I am concerned about the Sharpie bleeding.

Any advice is appreciated. :thumbsup2
 
I think the sharpie would be just fine...I haven't known it to bleed....
 
Hmmmmmmm I'd honestly get something made for fabric..while sharpies are permenant, they still can fade...

Tough call tho
 
My kids had pillowcases autographed on our last trip. We used fabric markers so we can wash them and not lose the signatures. I realize you may not be going to wash the hat, but I would worry about it getting wet (in the rain) and fading or running.

With it being dark what about a paint pen?
