Has anyone done this?

If so was it any good, and did you get any photos or cd included in the price?

hi there my hubby did this in 2006
he said it was a really good experience he was giving photo's in a paper frame think it was 2,photo cd and a shark dive t-shirt all included in the price

One word - BRILLIANT

DH, DS13 and DS11 did it on our last trip and it was definitely worth it. They were given a brief safety chat and then into the tank :scared1:

any family not taking part can go into the Shark Restaurant viewing area to watch. I was given a microphone and was able to talk to them inside the tank (though the whole restaurant was able to hear the conversation :rotfl:) and i took a lot of photos too.

There is a photographer with you above the water snapping away and afterwards we were asked to visit the collection booth to choose our free photo. When we got there we actually received free photo and, as we were international guests, we received the CD free :woohoo: . They received a great unique tshirt and shark book too :woohoo:

I rang my insurance company yesterday to ask what happens if DH does this.

They told me it would be classed as hazardous activities, and because our insurance is through the bank, monthly payments, they work on yearly insurance and would charge £50 to add this :scared1::scared1:

I asked if they could cover it for while we were in america but oh no, cannot do that.

Rang Sea World to see if they do any insurance and they do not.

Did any of you add extra to your travel insurance policy, or buy the extra cover separately?

We never even thought about it.
we just assumed there would be no issue. It's not like its open water scuba diving. None of the sharks are particularly dangerous.

Are you sure the insurance company actually know whats involved? Or did they just hear the words "shark dive".

I did mention he would be in a cage. Maybe ring up again today and read out what sea world have put, to see if it makes a difference.
