Shark Reef & age of kids

My kids are used to snorkeling in salt water,we have a cottage on the atlantic ocean, my kids are not great swimmers though! How deep is it? i don't know if they could go 50-75 feet without putting their feet down.

The reef is about 10 or 15 feet deep. There are two submerged "islands" but you are discouraged from standing or hanging on them.

There is no extra charge for this attraction.

DH noticed this when he was looking through the new book we got from AAA.

I know DH and most likely DS would do this, but there is no way DD would.

DH and DS both don't know how to swim, would that be problem even though they will have life jackets on?

Plus DH wanted me to ask if this costs extra or is it included in the admission price?****Just read the post above mine.***** LOL!!!

I did the shark reef last week with DS11 and DS7. DS7 was scared and he has snorkeling experience in Hawaii. I held his hand all the way across, but he was enthralled right away with the sharks and never took his head out of the water. You really don't need to swim to enjoy the reef, but being comfortable in the water is probably important. It is very cold and deep. There is no where to stand. Several small children got scared and didn't try it. Since the water is salt water, it is more bouyant than regular pool water. None of us wore vests and had no problems floating. The fish were great. We saw leopard sharks, hammerhead sharks, and sting rays. Also saw the Dori fish from Nemo. I would have done it several more times, but the line was about 30 minutes long.

There is a lifeguard in the pool and will help when necessary
