So we're DVC members trying the Dining Plan in December. We have one daughter who is eleven. We're well aware we'll have to pay the adult price for the plan for her - no biggie as she doesn't like kid food anyway.

My question is though about sharing. Frankly, three adult appetizers, entrees, and desserts would be way more food than the three of us can eat. Typically at home (or even at WDW) we buy 2 adult meals, and then either an appetizer or a kid's meal - and no desserts or possibly one every once in awhile. My daughter then eats the appetizer plus portions of our meals. This works out well and is plenty enough food as we've quite carefully raised our daughter to eat when she's hungry and only until she's full. With restaurant portions being so large 2 meals plus an appetizer are just plenty enough food for the three of us.

So my plan on the dining plan for TS places (with the exception of preplated or buffet meals) is to just order 2 TS meals. Two appetizers, desserts, and entrees are more than enough for the three of us. I asked a few months ago if this would be a problem and I'd like to make sure it isn't with the crackdowns that Disney has been forced to do.

Has anyone had recent experience with sharing meals?

Thanks.

We just returned last week, and we shared many of our meals. This left additional TS and CS credits for breakfast. You won't have a problem, except you will need to use 3 credits at the buffets. You will also need to pay out of pocket for the third drink, however, many of our servers did not charge us for this.

I was wondering the same thing... we have 5: me, DH, DS15, DS12, and DD9. DD9 doesn't eat much and will most likely want a little of what we're having as opposed to the mostly fried or mac n cheese stuff on the kids menus. If we allow her to share, are the TS credits available to use for any of the rest of us? It seems I heard they were, but wondered if anyone had done this.

Thanks.

7 days and COUNTING!!!!!!!

OK...just read another post that answered my question. Disney relies on the integrity of its guests to use credits as they are apportioned ...which means we will be using the child TS credits as just that.

Didn't seem right to me anyway. We may still share our adult TS meals. But a TS is a TS is a TS, so if we want to share those I guess that's our decision. DH and I share a lot when we go out to eat (and we go out quite a lot, at times.) Neither of us would really be able to comfortably eat a whole 3 course meal...appetizer, meal and dessert...singlehandedly. We will still probably end up sharing pieces of our meals w/ DD9 as I know she'll be sick of fried stuff. She's more of a grilled meat and raw veggies kinda girl.
