Sharing meals?

We're taking our pedometers and do not want to be "those" people who come back from WDW with more Pooh-like figures. We share restaurant-sized meals or save leftovers for lunches on a routine basis already. Does anyone have suggestions on the restaurants with menus most conducive to sharing? Is there anywhere that discourages sharing?popcorn::

CS you will have no problem sharing if you are not a big eater. Table Service are getting more strict and alot of places are not letting you share. Just take home the leftovers or just leave it your own vacation splurge a bit..:goodvibes

The only place I know of that charges you for sharing is Shula's. I've never run into any Disney table service place that has a problem with sharing meals.

But I do warn you. You said you didn't want to return home with Pooh size figures. There are many times when you ask to share a meal that your entree will be split but your sides will still be a full size for each of you. That happened to us with sharing a burger and fries. Burger was nice and split but we each got a full serving of the fries. My son wanted the cheddar cheese soup at LeCellier and I asked for three spoons. We got three bowls of soup (not full size but about 3/4 size). We were charged for only one bowl.

To avoid that, ask for one meal and an extra plate so you can split it yourself.

We share often at DW because we aren't huge eaters and we like to get dessert. We've never had any problem with sharing a meal at DW, but maybe the previous poster is talking about sharing on the dining plan?? I hope sharing is not being frowned on these days...:scared1:

We share everywhere--TS & CS, mainly to save room for all those snacks we love at WDW. Never had a problem getting an extra plate at any of these places. WDW seems to list most of their CS items as "combos". We order the sandwiches without the fries and they take about $1.80 off the meal price. I'd rather save the calories for the mickey bars, popcorn, ice cream cookies, etc., etc.  We took our pedometers last trip-no problem getting over the 10,000 step mark every day (we hit 20,000 at Epcot one day!).

Not sure if much as changed since January, but we shared quite a bit.

We're not huge eaters (all at one time anyway)
Servings are so big and we both love dessert. There were times we still couldn't finish all of our food, plus it was shared!

One place we always share at is 50's primetime... we get the milk shake, pot roast, and sundae. We do double the gratuity.

We always share - haven't even had an eyebrow raised much less told no. We DO always tip above and beyond since they are serving 2 people for the price of 1 =)

I've found the portion sizes to be large, esp with teh snacks we like to try too.

When I used to go with my mom every year (2004 and before) we shared just about every meal - TS and CS (we were both adults). We were always full, and then could still have room for popcorn if we wanted. We never had any trouble.

Buffets of course would frown on sharing, but we've never had problems at the TS, especially the signature dining. In fact most servers have brought out extra plates, even had items split in the kitchen. I think most places have items to share, so just review menus of the places you're considering (i.e. Jiko and CaliGrill both have flatbreads that share nicely). FWIW.

We find restaurants that are considered 1 TS on the DDP serve more than enough to share. Signature restaurant's portions aren't as large.

There is nothing wrong with sharing a meal! The only exceptions are buffets and family-syle meals where everyone needs to pay.

Sharing is not someting to be "frowned upon", or something that restaurants "get strict" about. It is YOUR food. Order what you want and share away!
