Sharing meals?

DH and I like to each order a salad or bowl of soup and then share an entree. Are there any TS restaurants at WDW (except buffets, of course) that frown on this? I just hate leaving a meal feeling stuffed and uncomfortable but I don't want to waste food either.

Also, is it okay for an adult to order a child's meal at CS restaurants?

Thanks!

I'm interested in knowing this too...I can never seem to finish a meal.:drinking1

I'm confining this to non buffets and non preplated meals (because obviously you can't do it there). Except for Shula's which charges a fee for shared meals, all the other restaurants will not have a problem with it at all.

As for adults ordering off the kids menu, it can't hurt to ask. But realize that you are limiting yourself quite a bit to the offerings. If I can't eat a full entree on my own, I'll look to substitute an appetizer for the meal instead.

We have split items at Le Cellier, Jiko, Citricos, etc. and have never had a problem. More often than not, our servers have had items split in the kitchen, very easy, happy to help. FWIW.

Thanks for all the replies.

I wouldn't order a kid's meal at a TS but I was thinking about just getting a kid's hamburger meal at a CS restaurant.

There's no problem, we shared a lot! It's just too much food. At Kona's the even split everything back in the kitchen for us. :)

I don't usually eat the amount of food that I used to. When we go in April/May I plan to order salads and then have an appetizer as my main course. I figure that will save room for some of the yummy deserts. I'm sure I won't do that every time but it is certainly an option.

I have done this many times in the past with no problem. The CM at the register doesn't know or care who you're ordering that kid's meal for.

However, the downside is the current state of the kid's meals at WDW CS places. They are no longer the assortment of hamburgers/hot dogs/chicken strips/pizza that you might be expecting.

That's good to know. DH likes to get a 1/4 pound cheeseburger at Pecos Bill's because he loves their toppings bar. I thought a smaller child size hamburger would be perfect for me plus I like the idea of grapes and carrots for a side. Also, Beach Club Marketplace has a child's ham & cheese wrap with 2 sides that I'd like to try.

There have been rare, but existing, reports of the occasional DISer not being permitted to share meals at one or two restaurants. Just ask, before you order.

It is reasonable to tip an amount that would reflect the purchase price of an entree for each person. Your server does pretty much the same amount of work and shouldn't be penalized.
