Sharing meals

I was wondering if it is OK to split an appetizer, main course and dessert with my husband or if this is frowned upon. Neither of us are big eaters but we like to enjoy an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I don't mean to sound cheap, I just hate to waste food. Thank you in advance!

We've shared meals many times and have never had a problem - they have always split them in the back for us, actually. The portions are usually huge!

Have one of you order the appetizer as your meal, most restaurants will allow that, then the other person order the entree. Dessert is very often shared. So, no, you don't sound cheap, heck, that's what my DMIL to be does all the time.

Do be careful about doing this at non-Disney restaurants - my parents split meals all the time, and have been infuriated by some (off site) restaurants that want to charge them an extra fee to split things.

They're not asking anyone to do any extra work other than bring them an extra plate, but have been told it will cost them anywhere from $5 to $10 in order to split an entree.

I agree with them, I'd be furious too, and they usually walk out at that point.

So just an FYI and a warning to ask about splitting the meal before you actually order it (at least at non-Disney, off site restaurants).
