Sharing meals?

My fiance and I will be at WDW in June on our honeymoon. I have made some ADR's, however we have a tight budget (recent college grads) and I am wondering how doable it will be to share meals at these restaruants. These are the ADRs I have right now...

The Plaza
Marrakesh
Teppanyaki
Mama Melrose
Chefs de France (probably just for dessert)
Spoodles
Tony's Town Square
LeCellier

Let me know which ones will be okay to share at and which ones have smaller portions. Neither of us need huge amounts of food to be satisfied, and as it will be hot in June I don't imagine our apetites will be very big. But I also don't want to leave a meal still hungry! Please tell me what you think! Thanks!!

DH and I share all the time at WDW as mostly the portions are quite large. We've shared at Spoodles and I would recommend this. The sandwiches at the Plaza are large and can easily be shared. Chefs de France, I'd recommend going to the take-away shop and splitting something. I'm not really a fan of Chefs de France for the food. Nice atmosphere, but the food can be hit or miss. I have not been to any of the others recently, so I cannot comment on those.

Hi disneymoon0606-

We've shared at (where haven't we shared???) Chef de France (lunch), Le Cellier (lunch/Dinner), Teppanyaki (lunch/dinner), Spoodles (Dinner- although we usually do appetizers here), Flying Fish (dinner), Beaches & Cream (anytime), etc.

You always have options. We'll either share an entree with a salad, or order a couple of appetizers.

At Rose & Crown, I usually get the Stilton salad and a bowl of Lamb Barley soup. DH usually has the same salad and what they used to call Mushroom Medley (now they call it Stewed Mushrooms). It's really Mushroom stew.

And we'll split a dessert.

At Chefs de France, at lunch (and dinner too- it's less expensive at lunch) they offer a prix fixe meal (or 'French Menu"):

Soupe a l' oignon gratinee - Onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese
Croque monsieur et sa salade verte - toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a green salad
Creme brulee a l'ancienne - baked vanilla cream with caramelized brown sugar

It's only $14.95, and if you order another soup ($4.25 - $4.95), or a salad (house salad $4.25) and split the rest, you both should be quite comfortable.

We'll either do that or I'll order the quiche (only available at lunch- $9.95). I love their quiche!

I hope that this helps. There is a 'French Menu' available at dinner also- but the quiche isn't available then, so we do lunch. In fact, we're having lunch there on Saturday.

Good luck!

I wish we had shared at Teppanyaki. The meal comes with lots of veggies, so if you don't like veggies, there may not be enough to share.

We just returned today from an 8 day Easter trip! We (DH, DD -17, DD -14, DS - 10) ate on Monday at Tony's. We had a great seat outside, in the shade and with fresh air and a TERRIFIC view of the parade (which we didn't plan on but was a great bonus). DS ordered pizza off the kids menu (great pizza and we are picky about pizza!) and inexpensive. DDs and I all ordered the chicken parm sandwich... we easily could have shared 2! DH ordered spaghetti and meatballs - huge! The table next to us (mom and daughter) ordered the spaghetti and meatballs (1 order) and requested it split in half. They served it that way...wish I knew ahead of time. It was around $12 - $13...so not bad split! Enjoy!

My mother and I split many meals as those at WDW are often too large for us.

Mama Melrose - We easily split the Chicken Parmesean. It was split in the back and nicely presented. You are also given bread with spreads so it is easy to split a meal here.

LeCellier - We ordered one bowl or the cheese/beer soup (yuck) and the french dip and easily split this meal. You are given all you can eat breadsticks with your meal and the pretzel ones are especially nice.

Rainforet Cafe is another that we have easily split meals at.

If you are really on a budget try to eat a late lunch instead of dinner as the restaruants are always a little less expensive. Also some of the counter service restaurants have suprisingly good meals.

Check out allearsnet.com for a list of restaurants and menus.

Good luck and congrats!

Thanks everyone! This is VERY encouraging! I think about half of our ADRs are for lunch and the other half for dinner. We're going to be there for ten days, and we'll be staying at a timeshare for the first 7 (where we have a fully equipped kitchen), but I thought it would be nice to still have some nice meals. Sounds like we'll be able to - and still not break the bank!

We just ate at Marrakesh this weekend. If you split one of the feasts, you will have more than enough food. One costs $35 and the other is $38. They both come with appetizers and dessert.
