Sharing meals at Shula's?

My dd 19 and I would like to dine at Shula's. Looking at the menu, I know we would like an appetizer, side, and dessert ( I will have wine) but with the size of the entrees there is no way we could even come close to eating all of that if we each got an entree. I know they charge a split plate fee and I don't mind that at all. I just don't want to appear cheap because that's not it but it would be a huge waste of food and I hate that. Are they accustomed to shared meals or will they give us at attitude?

1) Sharing the entrée isn't a problem, with a plate charge.
2) Sharing appy's and sides would seem a little on the cheap side.
3) They may not show it, but it would certainly bring attitude.

I find this interesting. I often share an app with dh. When we go out with others we may get a few for the table. I think this is normal and have never felt cheap or received attitude. At every upscale steakhouse that we have been to the sides are ala carte and meant to be shared. We have never shared a steak.

My husband & I split soup, appetizer, steak & dessert there two years ago. We were not charged extra to split & did not experience any attitude problems with the servers.

DH, DS, and I ate there a couple of years ago as well. DH got a steak, I got a salad, and DS got a side of hash browns. I think DH also got another side. We all shared each others' food and it was no problem. I only had a couple bites of his steak so I can't be sure about the extra plate charge. I know this charge is becoming more common.

I am getting ready to make ressies there for our last night in November. We will definately split the dessert, and we will order our salads. it is still up in the air wether we are going to split the 32 oz prime or not though! I am a filet person...but I know 32 oz will probably get wasted by one person...
We will order our sides but probably share them too!
I cannot wait for this dinner :thumbsup2

Dh and I always share at Shula's. We share appetizer, then one of us orders a steak and the other salad and we share those, and finally we share one dessert. It's more than enough food for two. We also always split a half bottle or bottle of wine. We've never been charged a fee for sharing, but we usually order a fairly pricey wine, so the final bill is always more than two would spend without wine.

DH and I usually share a side and dessert and have never had a problem but then we do spend quite a bit on the wine :lmao:

The last time DH and I were there, several years ago, they did have a plate charge for splitting an entree. But as far as the sides, salads or desserts......our server actually advised us to share a side and/or salad because they are huge!!!!!! We each had a steak and shared a baked potato, which looked like a small football. All our food was awesome....but very large portions.
We had the choc. molten lava cake, which was to die for, and it could have easily fed 3-4 people!!!
Shula's was fabulous, enjoy your meal! I'm still trying to get DH to take me there this Oct., but I think we will be going to Fulton's this trip, instead.
