Help me decide....

Shares or a AP.

Also if my mum got me shares through her bank, can i get the shareholders card in my name or not?

Don't say both lol I'm not rich sadly.

ok i have voted shares because i want to go into salon mickey lol.

I would say AP, because you get 20% off shopping and 10% off counter service and 10% off table service meals. The only added advantage with shares is 15% off table service meals and the use of Salon Mickey. Nothing off counter service.

I would say a Dream AP - as its your park ticket for at least one year (possibly 2 if you can sponsor enough :thumbsup2 ). 20% off your shopping in the resort, 10% off your meals, access to EMH if you're offsite, free luggage store, free stroller hire etc etc etc.

Shares are good too though - 15% off both your shopping and your meals in the resort, access to Salon Mickey, discounts on buying APs, and 10% off your shopping at Disney Store (including the ones in the UK).

I'm not much help am I :rotfl: ?

I am so glad you have posted this poll because I am wondering the same thing myself! At the moment the shares would edge it for me I think as I am becoming a convert to table service restaurants, and staying onsite which often works out cheaper with tickets included ;), but then for times when I want to go during peak seasons, useful to already have APs and then stay somewhere cheaper offsite  I've really helped haven't I?!!

Really want to know the answer to the 'paying for the shares from someone else's account but still having them in your name' question too! Great minds think alike eh

LOL, The Dream appeals to me esp for the free stroller hire.

How much will the Dream AP cost if i got a sponser?

I think for the shares to be in your name you will need to complete the transaction. To join the shareholders club you will need to have proof of the transaction in your name.

If you have a sponsor, your Dream AP cost is reduced by 10%.
So if its 179 euros normally, with sponsorship you'd pay 161 euros.

If you can afford it then I would go for the dream AP as it has more benefits. But - the shares are much cheaper so are better in that sense.

Emma, I have both so U'd say both for maximum benefits.

If you were to get one I'd say go for the shares as they will cost approx £60 and you won't feel under pressure to actually go.

If you get shares (20) then you have the benefits for life, with the AP you only have them for one year (possibly two) but you feel like you have to go during that year or it's a waste of money.

Whatever you decide, you will love saving money when you are there :)

That definitely makes sense! :thumbsup2

I agree that shares give a much better package of benefits.
The Dream AP is great if you go often and stay offsite. Room only prices are ridiculous and make no sense so you may as well buy a package and get the best available discount at the time you book.
I have both but always forget to ask for my free drink with the AP - I must remember when I go next month!

great advice. I'd definitely say shares too.

Let us know what you decide.

I cannot decide, I think im more swaying towards the AP though.

As I may book a trip for Oct or November or next January. Cannot decide yet lol.

Can someone tell me exactly how much 5 shares will cost from selftrade including the fees with them and DLP etc? A rough amount will do.

It would be about £25 Emma, everyting included, on selftrade.
