My daughter really wants to see Eiffel tower, ideally lit up at night.

We are considering doing at day in Paris on our next trip, via train, and coming back early evening, it's feb so will be dark early.

How easy is it to get the train in, and get around Paris? And any idea of prices? Only that DS (4)has autism so it needs to be as stress free as possible!

We're not planning on going up the tower, just look at it!
DH and I were in Paris recently for a weekend trip, and dd has seen the videos of the tower twinkling at night, and she wold love to see it.

We used the open top bus to get around, or walked, so I'm not familiar with the metro.

Was also considering using the organised trip as an option, can you book that once you are there, and can we get SH discount?

Sorry for all the questions! Thanks :)

Hi
I did paris day trip on tues, very easy to do we got the rer outside the gates, the Paris train is very well signposted, we got off at Charles de Gaulle etoile , which is at the arc de Triomphe - the champs élysées we hopped on a tour bus did the sights and then got the rer back from the opera rer stop Auber, do it it was so easy, I just decided to do it on the day but if I had planned it I would've used the metro all day and not the tour bus as the tickets we bought were for all zones and the rer, total of €58 for 3 adults &1 eight year old.tour was €90 for 4 of us.

Mobilis tickets will let you use the rer, metro and buses for the day, they cost around 15 euros for adults, I'm not sure on the child price though.

As others have said you can get the rer right into the centre of paris. we tend to arrive via Châtelet - Les Halles to visit Notre Dame and
Jardin des Tuileries and then leave via Charles de Gaulle - Étoile after visiting the tower and Champs-Élysées

If you want to see the eiffle tower light up I recommend going to the esplanade du Trocadéro where you can sit and watch the sunset and the lights come on

AFAIK there's no shareholders discount on the organised tours and yes, you can book them when you're there. In case you didn't know, there's reviews of both daytime and evening ones in the Trip Reports section (they're highlighted in the index).
