Shared super shuttle question

I've always rented a private shuttle, but since its just DS and I, I'm thinking shared is safer. How long does the super shuttle drive around looking for people to pick up? we land at 6:23pm at LGB and would like to be in the parks by 9.

We're staying at the HOJO. Speaking of which, do I need to let them know I won't be in until 8ish? I've never shown up for a reservation after noon anywhere. Thanks!

When are you going? We're doing the same thing on 3/17, Long Beach to Hojo. I'd be happy to let you know how things shake out!

And as long as you have a credit card on file, they should hold your room. I travel a decent amount for work and usually I don't check in until 5pm or later. You can always call and ask for a late check-in if it would make you feel better :)

I'm actually going before you on 2/27, but thank you for the offer! I hope you all have a great trip!

I would also be interested in hearing how this goes. We are debating between Super Shuttle and a rental van for our party of 6. The cost is the main factor in the debate, since the shuttle would be so much less, but I am worried that the shuttle will be so inconvenient. :confused3

I can't speak for supershuttle out of LGB, but when we've done that from SNA it's not been an issue. We prebooked/prepaid and walked out to the shuttle area. They checked our reservation and showed us to the correct van. We waited about 5 minutes or so for two more people and were off. Unlike the taxi driver form the previous trip, he didn't drive like a madman and we were actually the first stop (Desert Inn). We were picked up on time for our return flight and I think we were his last stop that time because I don't remember picking up anyone else afterwards.

My experiences with Supershuttle have been good so far...the only thing I don't like is the waiting and many drop offs! Last time at SNA, we waited over 20 minutes and there were 4 different groups on the bus, if I was the last drop off I would be pissy, luckily we were the first :)!!!

My guess is from LGB HoJos might be one of the first drop offs!

I think if we use Super Shuttle we will be getting a private van, since there are six of us. My biggest problem is that we are arriving together, but then my mother will be leaving 2 days before the rest of us. This means we need three trips, so I am trying to figure out the most economical way to go about it. Honestly, I'd prefer to just rent a minivan, but the cost is the highest I can remember seeing!!!!:scared1:

So, I am thinking the best way to go about it would be a private van from the airport and for the large group returning at the end, but that leaves my mom getting to the airport. I don't know if it's better for her to just do the shared van or to shell out the extra money for a cab, so at least she can schedule it herself.
